How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.

This is a rating for my results. I am not trying...

This is a rating for my results. I am not trying to offend the doctor or his office, but I feel I must be honest with how I feel about my personal results. His nurses were very kind and I feel bad that I must write a bad review.

I had my first double eyelid surgery with Dr. Kim 2 years ago. He didn't even ask me what shape I wanted. He kind of just went with what he thought would suit me, and I trusted him. The shape was initially okay, though the crease was not nearly prominent enough at first. When I wasn't intensely trying to open my eyes, half the crease wouldn't even show. The lids were way too big and made my eyes look droopy, as my eyes still did not open wide enough to make the lids smaller.

A year later, I went for a revision. Immediately, I could tell the two eyes were different sizes after the surgery. Not only that, but the creases were extremely uneven. One eye was obviously over-corrected and made my actual ptosis look a lot worse. He over-corrected the eye that didn't even HAVE ptosis! Not to mention the surgery was the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my LIFE, up to date. Also, the stitching he did was so jagged and uneven and it ended up making both my eyelid shapes different!!

I went back a few weeks later to correct the one eye that actually had ptosis and was droopy (in comparison). I blame myself for getting a revision at all. Now my eyes are two completely different shapes and look obviously fake. My eyelids have ugly scars that are bumpy and dark. The revision may have made it worse. I want a revision so bad. For the past few months, I've been battling depression over how ugly my eyes are, and even wishing I had my monolids again. When I close my eyes, my eyes look so weird..He removed too much fat. I look like a creature. My skin literally sinks in near the crease. Not natural at all. I HATE IT!! It has been around 8 months since this third revision and my eyes still look terrible.

I should mention that during the time of my revisions, I tried contacting Dr. Kim through kakaotalk because he had replied to a friend of mine who got surgery from him. However he never replied to me. Not once.

What I would be grateful for is any sort of refund from Dr. Kim. I initially went with a more expensive double eyelid operation called the "dynamic" method because he said it would make the incision lines near invisible. Well, after my revisions, my incision line can be seen from a mile away!! It's uneven, bumpy, and dark. It's been 8 months and it still looks this way. I feel deceived and scammed. I paid $4500 only to feel worse about my eyes than I ever have in my life. Not only were my results nowhere near what was promised, but the pain and emotional trauma I went through was really more than I bargained for.

Doctor wasn't very sympathetic of the fact my eyes got ruined. While he was "polite" on the outside, he really didn't seem to think it was a big issue that both my eyes looked so different and that the results were so much worse than what he had promised. I would also try to tell him the issue with why my eyelids were so uneven but he wouldn't really listen. The reason one of the creases was not on the crease line is because his STITCHES were too messy and uneven and it caused the skin to fold above them!
