Kybella is Worth It for Me!
WORTH IT$1,200
After turning 29 and several miscarriages, my face shape started to change and the biggest part of this change is the area under my chin. It is amazing how much a full chin area can age a person. I have realized in the past 9 months that I have hashimotos and a lot of thyroid issues. I am working on correcting these through diet, medication, and stress reduction. However, I am impatient and not willing to wait several years to return to the 'old me'. Time also marches on, so I thought it best to do whatever I can to prevent these aging issues now.
My plastic surgeon had a great deal, buy 2 vials Kybella, and get 2 vials free. Essentially this is two treatments for the price of one. I have had my first treatment on 2/14 and am scheduled for my second treatment in April (about 8 weeks out). The process was, to me, not very painful. There was some swelling, itching, and general aching but nothing too intolerable. I was able to wear scarves for a few days after the procedure and return to a fairly normal looking state in about 4 days. I did not see any results until about 5 weeks into the procedure. Above is a comparison of me before any procedure, me the same evening of the procedure (swollen and bull frog like), and me about 5 weeks later.
I also had some juvaderm injections in my lips for a natural plumpness. In the 'immediately after' picture, my lips are very swollen as well. If you do decide on Kybella, I'd advise against any other injectables at the same time. Lesson learned. I was very uncomfortable for about 3 days, and ended up not returning to work the next day as I had planned, as I looked too freakish from the lip injections.
My lips are now beautiful, my chin is on its way to looking shapely once again, and my numbness and pain are mostly gone. I am really looking forward to my second treatment. At this time, I think 2 treatments will be enough for me.
