Kybella 1 Treatment 2nd Treatment Pending

I'm 40 now. Oh joy. No one believes me when I say that but concealer and a great skin care regimen has helped keep me from looking 80. To me from the inside this feels like everything you once had look wise is just fading away over night and I'm turning into my grandmother. Eh. No thanks. So as a gift to myself I decided to fix some of my aging concerns. I found Dr Patel from a friends botox post. I've read her reviews and pricing has been fair with their monthly specials. (She is fabulous by the way). One of my procedures suggested was Kybella. Wasn't sure what to expect. I researched about this first before I jumped into it. I do have a long neck line but I didn't have a double chin issue. I didn't think my neck had fat on it but I wasn't crazy about taking selfies or pics with anyone anymore I knew I definitely didn't want to do liposuction. I needed a refreshing look but I also know that it takes time to see results when it comes to any kind of weight loss or semi natural enhancement changes.Well here it is. I said to myself well you'll never know unless you try it. So I did. The pain is so moderate in my opinion. I barely felt it. The after care is a lot different. I knew there would be some discomfort. I experienced moderate swelling, mild bruising and could feel hard lumps under my jaw. My throat felt sore for 2 days.I probably could have used a few days off work to heal from getting 3 procedures done at same time but I can handle mild to moderate pain easily so I continued to stay working while symptoms were at peak. I remember looking in mirror and saying my neck looks gross. This made me look 50 lbs heavier what the hell did I just do to myself.this look better go away. I took some pictures made me laugh when I saw how big my neck became. Luckily for me the major swelling only lasted 1 week. The lumps however lasted for almost 6 weeks and made me paranoid so with an aftercare follow up, Dr Patel let me know I was still healing and it could take some time before the injection lumps really started going away. Just like she said. The results came for me about 2 months later. I kinda noticed a more defined neck and chin line. But when I touch my under my neck/jaw I can really feel a difference. This is for sure a slow process but I do like it now that time has passed. I might go ahead with another injection next spring. My full time employee was the one to tell me yesterday (9 weeks later) Jen.I don't think you needed this procedure and I think your crazy but now that your swelling has gone down i can really notice a difference in how your jaw is defined. So there it is - don't expect instant results from Kybella and don't think you'll need just one treatment. Everybody is different and always remember results will vary when it comes to weight loss.

I think the younger you start with things like kybella or injectables the better, within reason. Instead of trying to solve some big problem when you are 65, if you just keep nipping those "little problems" (eg, naso labial lines) in the bud, you may be able to avoid a lot of expense and hassle later.

I wish I had tackled the double-chin problem a lot earlier, but alas, kybella hadn't been invented yet. As someone over 60, I would caution anyone over 50 to go REALLY SLOW with kybella and just do one vial at a time and wait about 6 months to a year between treatments, to give your skin a chance to tighten up between treatments, and to more effectively target your remaining problem area. Kybella is not good as a "quick fix" for a large problem. It is best for gradually making small problems better until there is no problem left.

I hope your second treatment doesn’t kill you.

Thanks for your great information and you're an excellent model for its efficacy! If my Thermage/coolsculpting mini treatment from last week doesn't bring good results by June, I might try Kybella

My dermatologist showed me this from when I first when in to see her
So i didn't end up going with another treatment however I did invest in voluma for cheeck and chin filler and this is what kybella with voluma can look like
