Kybella. Expensive and Left Me with New Problem - Saggy Skin.

So, as most people, I was bothered by my "chubby" looking double chin. I went for Kybella and the process in and of itself was fine. (Many others have documented it here in detail, so I won't.) What I would like to share with you all - and it's something to consider - is what happens after. Like months to a year later.
As you know, Kybella gets rid of the fat. I needed 2 rounds, which is probably the norm. Now, after some time post-procedure, I can't say that I like the look better. What I have now is a "turkey neck" thing going on. That ain't much better. In fact, I would argue worse. The staff and doctors don't tell you that though. They don't tell you that you'll probably need another procedure (for me a "neck lift") in order to fully realize the benefit of kybella. In order to really have my neck of my youth.
So please consider this before your procedure. Have that discussion and plan for that saggy skin post-op.
And, for the record, I did not like the place where I got mine done. Dr. Banerjee is only concerned with her bottom line. She rushes and manipulates you. Lots of negative reviews of her and Halo Laser out there.

That’s too bad that the provider you went to didn’t explain that Kybella is almost always 3 treatments at the base minimum and usually 4-5! Kybella itself does not cause skin laxity as proven in many controlled and random studies measuring tissue biopsies. As you can see in your before photo you already had laxity - when your fat dies and leaves the space, you simply don’t have the pressure from the weight of the fat pushing your lax skin down and forward. You are 2 years older with significantly more sun damage as well - all of which causes laxity. Botox in your platysmal bands of the neck as well as laser/ RF resurfacing and major reduction in sun exposure will dramatically help you. And yes, 2-3 more Kybella treatments! Even if you decide to go for a neck lift, please remember to use Botox in the muscle bands. I hope this helps you understand you didn’t make a wrong decision with Kybella, maybe just who you went to?

Yes, definitely going to Dr. Promila Banerjee was a bad choice. Interesting you mention the sun damage. She talked me into IPL and that was the wrong choice. Made my melasma MUCH worse - darker and affected area grew.

I am doing RF now (with another doctor) and that is working beautifully.
