Kybella Doesn’t Work for Everyone

For all of the people who told me to "wait on results" -- 1 YR UPDATE

$999
It has been a year, and one round (two syringes) of Kybella made no noticeable difference. Not only did it not shrink my double chin, but it made my chin numb for almost 6 months! I am now moving forward with traditional liposuction of the chin. I understand multiple rounds of Kybella are needed but it's scary to throw thousands towards shots that may work when you can put the same amount towards a proven method.

Kybella Doesn’t Work for Everyone

Got Kybella on January 16th. Paid for two vials for a total cost of $999. I knew results wouldn’t show for at least two weeks so I waited to do this review. Now, I can say with absolute surety that I wish I would have taken my money and just got traditional chin liposuction. Two weeks later and I am STILL swollen and sore. I could be fine with that but I’m dealing with it PLUS not seeing results. Knowing I threw away $1000 makes me angry. Do yourself a favor and get traditional chin lipo because doctors only want to make you pay more by selling you 3+ rounds of Kybella. That’s the same price as traditional chin lipo! And, without all of the recurring downtime. I will do a one month update but I’m not hopeful for change.

Its crazy my chin looks exactly like yours. I originally got chin lipo and it did nothing for me, so now im gonna try kybella.

You should wait at least two months before seeing results. I’ve had two sessions. It’s really slow. You definitely won’t see anything the first month.

Definitely agree. It’s rare that anyone sees much improvement after the first round of Kybella unless they had very little chin fat to begin with especially after only two weeks.

I've had 2 treatments, a total of 5 vials and 6 weeks have gone by since my last treatment and I'm still swollen. My double chin looks bigger than it did before I started kybella. I don't know what to do. I feel like I already threw 2,500 dollars on something that didnt work.

I know the feeling. It’s really scary to keep getting injections for thousands of dollars with no results all because someone tells you they’ll be results 6-12 months down the line.

Bettyboob, same here. I did 3 treatments with 2 vials at a time. It's been over 6 months with no improvement. BIG waste of time and a lot of money. I'm worried it's gonna cost a lot more to fix.

You've had a single treatment so far and it's only been two weeks... most people are still swollen at this time. It can take as long as 7 weeks for the swelling to go down, and 6 months until the results appear. Plus it usually takes 2-3 applications to get the full effect. Try being more patient before claiming something doesn't work...

It has now been almost a full year. The results are in: my chin was numb for more than 3 months (the downtime is disturbingly long). Also, my before and after photos show my chin looks worse than before I got the injections. Maybe fluid? I don't know because I massaged my chin as requested several times a day an I find myself still doing it a year later wishfully thinking the extra fat will go away. Kybella round one didn't work.

Yeah, I agree. Today marks my 2 weeks since my first treatment, and I am still quite swollen although my neck has gone down some since the first couple of days when it looked pretty much like a tree trunk. :-). From all the reviews I've read, the initial change will be magic around 4 to 7 weeks, but I think we have to wait to see the results over months, and possibly even have a second treatment. It's getting a little pricey if I have to have that second treatment but at this point I'm in and hoping for a good result in the end. I'm 64 years old and have hated my under chin area my entire life. Hang in there with me! Let's follow each other's story and continue to encourage. I think we're both going to be okay if we could just get through this first month.
