Liposuction on upper and lower abdomen and flanks - Boise, ID

ORIGINAL POST

I have always carried my weight in my mid-section....

I have always carried my weight in my mid-section. Even when I am at my smallest and super fit, I never really have a waist and am always thick around the middle. I've delivered 3 babies and don't plan to have anymore so I decided to look into liposuction to contour my waist permanently. I initially planned to do Smartlipo, but I opted to do traditional liposuction with a well known plastic surgeon instead. I am 4 days post op and, despite the positive feedback i received at my appointment today, I'm feeling nervous. I know that swelling is normal, but I worry about lumpiness and if I am going to feel like they took out as much fat as I would have wanted. Can't wait to see how things progress. I will post my before pictures along with a Day 4 post op that I took today and will continue to post as my body takes shape.

4 weeks post op and feeling discouraged

airwalker15
I was feeling overall positive and hopeful about my potential results until this past week. I am 4 weeks post op, feeling almost normal again, but it seems like as the firmness and lumpiness subsides, my stomach just feels soft and squishy again just like before surgery. I'm fine with stomach imperfections, but I am wondering my PS was as aggressive as I would have liked with the fat removal. There is definite improvement in my size, but I don't feel like it's much different than what I could have done on my own. I still feel like my stomach has quite a pooch with a good chunk of fat that I can grab with my hands. Also, there is a definite crease at the top of my abdomen that I worry came from my compression garment. It doesn't seem like these are things that will just disappear with more time, does it? Feeling discouraged about the money spent for the results I got....My main questions are, Could more fat have been removed? Could my compression garment have caused creases? and Will I see much change in my shape from this point on? (Red and Black underwear are my Before pics and Blue underwear are my After pics)

You would still have swelling being only 4 weeks post so try not to worry too much just yet. Are you still wearing compression garment at all? Also massage can help with the lumpiness so I recommend lymphatic massage as well. When do you head back to your surgeon to see how your results are going?

Yes, I'm still wearing the compression garment 24/7. I went at 3 weeks and will go again at 6 weeks (2 more weeks). I should so comparing my results to others I see on here, I guess. I just feel like my stomach still has quite a pooch and didn't know if it could still flatten out at this point.

I'm 5 weeks out and still get swelling. I take bromelain on an empty stomach to help. Everyday my body seems to change. My doc has me in tight spanx with Lipo foam.

Thank you for your comment. I'm still wearing compression 24/7. Do you feel like, at 5 weeks, your results look worse than before? I feel like I should be looking better as time passes, not worse. I'm not saying I don't look better than before the surgery, just disappointed with the amount of fat that seems to be left behind.

Let me rephrase that question, do you feel like at 5 weeks that your results looked worse than 1-2 post op? (Not before surgery)

Well, I took photos pretty regularly so I can spot change. I look much better than I did at week 1-2. My advice is to drink a ton of water and keep sodium content down. If I eat something like pizza I feel the bloat coming within minutes. So I'm trying my hardest to stay away from processed foods.

Did your swelling ever go down more? I’m curious because at 4 weeks I look similar to you.
