Skin Removal After Losing 17 Stone (2401b /110kg) Male Breast Reduction, and Bodylift

Ralph Lawless
WORTH IT
46 Year old Male, Skin Removal after Massive Weight loss. Pseudo gynaecomastia, Abdominoplasty, Belt Lipectomy, Nipple grafting.
First things first, I have listed the treatment as a full body lift where is what I really had was Pseudo gynaecomastia, Abdominoplasty, Belt Lipectomy and Nipple grafting. As you can only choose one procedure I think that Full body lift is the most fitting.
My Story, I lost a massive amount of weight 17st in total For the Americans out there that is 238lb, To the rest of the world that is 108kg. I lost this weight over 14 months, at time of surgery I had stabilised my weight for a further 4 months. I lost this purely through diet and exercise, I followed the Cambridge Weight Plan to do this. I went from 29st 71bs (413lb 187kg) down to my current weight of 12st 7lb (175lb 79.5kg)
This of course left me with an excess of skin around my midriff, chest and buttocks. Although I was extremely happy to have lost all the weight and was fitter now at 46 than I was in my twenties, I felt that I could not move on further until I had had the skin removed. The skin was extremely detrimental to my mental health although I was much happier than before I lost the weight, the skin was still affecting my mental health and stopping me moving on. The skin was ugly and embarrassing, even though it was hard to see when I was clothed, I knew what was underneath.
I did expect to have this skin on the first day that I started the diet and exercise, I had planned everything from the first day, the diet, the exercise and to have surgery to remove skin once I had lost the weight. The day I started to diet, I started to save so I could pay for the treatment.
I highly recommend my surgeon Mark Soldin. From my first meeting with him to my second appointment with him post op, he has shown the upmost professionalism, knowledge and patient care. He is a master craftsman of his trade and I could not be happier with the results, his care and consideration throughout the time I have spent with him has been second to none. He will explain everything extremely thorough and make sure that everything is understood for start of the process to the finish. He has made sure he is available to answer any questions, either at appointment or by phone. His secretary Angie is also extremely quick to communicate and is there to handle any appointments, admin or other questions etc.
The operation: -
There was of course some pain and discomfort immediately after the operation. I was in hospital for 2 days (The Spire St Anthony’s in Cheam London), and had morphine for the first 24 hours , Tramadol and paracetamol for a couple of days after that, then the pain was controlled with paracetamol. All in all, a bearable experience which I quickly recovered from.
At 11 weeks after the operation I am extremely happy with the results, my chest looks amazing, stomach look fantastic, the results from whole operation is much better than I expected, my buttocks have also been lifted more than I thought it would and around the area around the pubis area is now very flat. The scars are noticeably improving all the time and should fade to virtually nothing over the next few months.
My overall rating for this procedure is 5* and I could not recommend Mark Soldin enough. The staff at the hospital and hospital was fantastic.

I thought I would point out that my nipples were removed and grafted back on in the correct position. My recomendation for anybody considering this procedure is to make sure you get your body fat to a good low level and hit your target weight first before the op. Also get yourself as fit as you can before the operation as this really helps with the healing. I will also add some more photo's in a few weeks time so people can see the progression of the healing of the scars. Good luck all.
