Day before.. I have lost about 120 pounds over the last 18 months and the result is (as all of you know) horrible ugly hanging skin. I work out 6-7 times a week, I run and have a personal trainer but without surgery this flap is going no where. I am VERY nervous of surgery. I have had a previous bad experience of being awake while intabated so I have a lot of fear. My husband will be gone on Army duties the week of my surgery but my best friend will be with me. She has the perfect personality to encourage me to move forward to reach my goals and yet support and love me.

So the day of surgery I was nervous.. my best friend went with me to the operating room. The DR drew on me.. gave me a margarita in my IV and the next think I remember was waking up. I had no pain. I was sleepy but I was up in my room by 1230 and my surgery had begun at 7 am. My best friend came back and she took a picture of my belly to show me. I had tears of joy. I was comfortable.. on a morphine pain pump and resting. My dr does not use binders until 2 weeks out. I also had a catheter so no need to get up. I felt pretty well and even had a steak dinner that night.

That is awesome that things went so well for you! I am looking into getting this surgery as well and am a bit nervous about it. (Same doctor) I'll have my consult today. My biggest issue is the pain and scarring. I'm wondering why they make the incision on your hip? You results are awesome though so maybe I worry in vain.

Day 2- still in hospital.. UGG! This was the worst day for me. I was on the morphine pain pump all day. I was dicharged at 4 and had been sitting for over 24 hours. I was so stiff and it hurt so bad to stand up. I went home with my friend who tried to feed me.. ( I felt sick) and then put me to bed with pergocet. IT was a rough night. If someone can sleep with you to help you get up then tie a rope or towel to the footboard to help you pull up. In my opinion day 2 was the worst.
