I arrived on Monday 11/5 to a condo I rented called “The Shamrock”, we settled in and went to sleep because it was already 1 am.
Tuesday morning received a call from Jennifer in accounting to come on in for my pre- op.I got to CG by noon to sign papers; from the very start, everyone was so sweet and answered all my questions. There was a 45 minutes wait until I was called back by Sheiry, who was perfect in every way. She helped me make sure all my admin paperwork was complete and correct; this portion took about an hour because my Dr did not send my verification letter and EKG graphic. I met with Yenia for the pre-op procures that included blood pressure reading and blood work. Technicians usually have a hard time drawing blood so Yenia called Gisele who got it on the first try. The pre-op procedure lasted another hour. My surgery was scheduled for Wednesday at 6:45 am.
On Wednesday I came to the side entrance and was ushered in to meet with Dr. Loissen. The wait was an hour after completing a pregnancy test. The Dr. came in and we went over what I wanted and he made his marks. I waited another 45 minutes for the anesthesiologist who was too put me under and monitor me during my surgery.
I got into the surgery room and the technicians put compression bags on my legs and prepped me for surgery. Honestly, the fluid injected to put me out, burned so bad, I breathed in through the face mask a few times and was out.
No lie - I woke up in pain, intense pain. My husband picked me up, I went home, took my pain medication and laid down. This portion felt worse than labor, more like when the baby’s head and shoulders are being delivered! The pain lasted most of the night; I finally ate and went to sleep.
I woke up Thursday morning in great spirits and got ready to go back to the center for my massages. I cleaned up, got dressed and did dishes. From what I hear the massages are painful - but I got three massages that cost $150. The massage therapist was so good! Jasma knows what she’s doing and I had no pain. I have another massage Friday and Saturday; I can’t wait!
After my massage I went to see Dr. Ailyn Miguel who gave my first of a 10 day anti blood clot injection regimen. She gave me more instructions for when I returned home.
My entire experience was amazing, I could not ask for better. The staff is excellent and the offices are clean and decorated well. I loved being around these woman and they love their job - it shows!
By Friday or Saturday I feel that I will be so much better and will be able to spend the rest of the days here in Miami on vacation!
