After working so hard to lose 70 lbs I wanted to feel comfortable in a bikini so badly. My tummy tuck journey so far has been pretty rough ever since the complications developed over the last few days, but I'm confident I will heal up in the coming weeks or months and may have to get a scar revision, but it's all part of the game with plastic surgery. Never expect you won't have complications and try to prepare yourself mentally and physically before your surgery! I am still young, don't smoke, don't have diabetes, and I eat very healthy and workout 3-4 times a week, but it still happened to me. I've definitely been emotional over the past 2 weeks, but trying to stay positive!

I am about 2 weeks post-op and my incision started to open and now I have a big hole in my abdomen. My surgeon thinks it may have been the crazy glue dressing over the incision that caused it to open. It may have been on too long and bottled things up. It's very hard not to freak out at this point because my stomach looks like a graveyard, but I've seen other women's wounds heal and it just takes time. I know I'm going to love the end result. My surgeon did an AMAZING job and he completely changed the shape of my body! I've always had a small waist and upper half and a bigger lower half with "thunder thighs" and a big booty, but now it looks better after the TT. I'm still very swollen, but you can see the shape difference pretty well! The left photo is the night before the surgery with the "apron" or "over hang" and the photo on the right is 2 days after when I took off my binder for the first time.

If any of you experienced an incision opening and have some insight or photos of your wound after it healed, I'd love to hear or see it! Trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Looks fabulous well done. Shame about the wound but it'll get there won't it especially as you are young and so healthy. Nice work!

How are you healing?? The 2 days after surgery looks amazing!
I am considering a TT with the same surgeon...

Aw thank you! Yeah, I couldn't believe my eyes when I took off the bandage.

Highly recommend Stan if you're considering it. His work is amazing. I'm so happy with my results so far and the whole team and all the nurses at the Okanagan Surgical Centre were great.

Ps. my healing is going well, thanks! My hole closed up about a month ago. I may go in for a scar revision in a couple months or I may leave it. The scar doesn't bother me and you can't see it at all unless I'm naked. He placed the scar so perfectly and gave me the cutest belly button!

WOW! Looks so great.
How long until you felt like you could go about your regular day? Looks like you’ve been so active !

Thank you! Yeah, I went traveling 6 weeks after my surgery. Currently traveling for 5 months through Asia and Europe. It took about 4-6 weeks until I felt close to normal. The swelling lasts for quite a long time though and it can be uncomfortable when you feel really bloated all the time. I still get swelling and apparently it's going to last for a couple more months, but it doesn't stop me doing any activities. Totally manageable!

You look so awesome! I am having surgery with Dr V later this month. Can I ask if you just had a standard tummy tuck or if you did 360 lipo?Your results are beautiful

Large, hard, red lumps appearing in upper abdomen 2 years post-op

Hans_solo

I had a tummy tuck done two years ago with a few complications including a bad infection requiring a scar revision surgery. 10 days after my revision surgery I also accidentally lifted something too heavy too early and busted my belly button open leaving me with a bad scar on my belly button. In the recent months, a large hard lump appeared in my upper abdomen and since I started working out a lot over the past month, it started becoming red and sorer.

Then in the last week, it's the worst it's ever been for redness and soreness and a second lump has appeared below the original one closer to my belly button which is strange because I haven't worked out in a week because of all this coronavirus mayhem. Has anyone experienced lumps like this a couple of years post-op and how did you deal with it? Did you get them cut out successfully? If so, did they come back?
