Update 12/21/24
WORTH IT
Face update - acne pretty much has been cleared, but I occasionally have my hormonal acne before my cycle. Just dealing with the acne scars and keeping up with my skin care regime. Learning how to deal with having problematic skin, grateful I don't have crazy cystic acne anymore!

Just wanted to post on my looks now. I’ve been doing tca cross and everything under the sun. I still have a long way to go.

Thank you! I feel fine. I did have a cyst two years ago that I had to get surgery to remove and it was super random I never had a cyst before that. I think it was a freak after affect from the accutane. I think even though I'm off of it I still have to be diligent in my skin care routine by doing masks. Exfoliating once a week. Sunscreen everyday. Then all the other procedures I've been doing like tca cross and peels like I've been doing to get rid of the pesky scars. If I had to do it again I would just because it really helps with calming down your skin. Just the whole process itself is crazy. lol

Scar revision time! TCA Cross 4/19/19
Watsup yall. Long time no review. So I've been busy and my skin has been great with minor breakout of like one pimple on my face here or there around the time of the month when I'm mensing. I'm so happy I decided to do accutane, because my skin has been clear and no more sore pimple breakouts on my face.
I'm left with ice pick and rolling scars. My dermatologists had no idea wtf #tcacross was so I just started doing treatments at home from a kit I found off of amazon. Below is the link of the 85% Trichloroacetic Acid I'm using:
https://smile.amazon.com/TCA-85-Trichloroacetic-Remover-85-_4ml/dp/B07F5MF2YL/refsr_1_8?keywordstca+cross&qid1555719485&sgateway&sr8-8
PH balancer after I use the acid on my face:
https://smile.amazon.com/Post-Peel-Neutralizer-Glycolic-Salicylic/dp/B01MT5QLRF/refsr_1_11?crid2VN7QQXKLHZ8X&keywordschemical+peel+neutralizer&qid1555719593&refinementsp_72%3A2661618011&rnid2661617011&sgateway&sprefixchemical+peel+ne%2Caps%2C306&sr8-11
Its actually pretty easy to use just have to make sure your skin frosts then use the neutralizer afterwards. I did my first session in the beginning of the month. I'm doing them in 2-3 week increments. I already saw a huge improvement on my scars from the first session. I'll try to post my updates.
This pic is the second session directly after.

If your breakouts come back, like mine did, try DIM. I’m in my 50’s now but sure wish I knew about it before Accutane. Any brand will do. Pull it up on Amazon and just start reading the reviews. They are legit. Since acne typically starts at puberty, it makes sense to me that it’s primarily about hormones. Metabolizing the excess bad estrogen seems to be the ticket in most people - myself included. I’m not endorsing any brand, but rather view my post as a public service announcement. I’m irritated I didn’t know about it myself years ago!

Your pictures are so informative! The second round seems to have really taken. I look forward to seeing how your skin responds to the scar treatments.

Thank you! Check my other reviews on my tca cross journey! It's really coming along!

Beautiful! Your skin looks good. Pretty girl. I used cleocin T and erythromycin for about a year and my acne finally went away. I know the feeling with breakouts! Ugh! Your gorgeous now!!

Thanks so much it means a lot. The scars are the most annoying part though. I can't wait until they're at a place where I am satisfied, if there is even such a place. LOL
