A Major Disappointment
A Major Disappointment
I conducted lots of research prior to going to see Dr. Donath as this would only be my second experience with getting filler. I am sorry to say I did not have a good experience and will not be returning. When I first met with Dr. Donath, I asked him based on his aesthetic expertise, where he thought I would benefit from filler on my face. He told me he leaves it up to his clients to let them know where they want it. That should've been the first sign that he wasn't there to truly consult with me about my needs. Once I mentioned where I was interested in the filler, he started to prepare right away to inject. I had to slow him down and ask him about the different types of filler, and their costs. He would not even have discussed this with me had I not brought it up. Once that was decided he got right to the injecting after the numbing cream set in and that was that.
After injection, I had to ask about aftercare, which clearly he had no plans of discussing with me. There was no discussion of follow up, or anything else. I noticed while he was injecting that he put more filler on my right side. When I got home I immediately could feel how much more filler was on that side, and it looked like a worm was under my skin on that side. I called after a week to see about a follow-up appointment to address the overfilling on the right side, and they recommended I called after it had been two weeks. I knew he only came to the local office where I lived every two weeks, so I asked if I could be tentatively scheduled on that date next week as that would be over 2 weeks, and was told no, to call back after it had been two weeks bc it could just be swelling (which clearly it wasn't).
So I waited the 2 weeks and called again to see if I could see him again to consult about the overfill on the right side. I was told that he was scheduled out until April. I told them I was just in 2 weeks ago and was having an issue and wouldn't they get me in any sooner because of the circumstance? The person on the phone told me that if I could potentially get in any sooner I would have to drive to his main office in Cincinnati an hour away instead of the local office I visited. I wasn't requesting to get in immediately, and couldn't believe they would not accommodate me in this situation to get in locally again sometime sooner in the future. The person on the phone put on someone else, who also gave me the run around about scheduling, and eventually settled on trying to fit me in locally.
After setting this appointment I realized I was so disgusted by the whole experience, not only with the Doctor who didn't even cover the basics and did a poor job, to the receptionists who made me feel like a burden for trying to schedule a follow-up appointment. It seems that Dr. Donath must spend lots of money on marketing and advertising (internationally renowned? I doubt that-not even locally renowned in my opinion) and all the superior ratings and reviews (doubtful as well). I would find another Dr. if I was you.
