Terrible Experience.

Let me start by saying I have been getting filler and botox for more than ten years and have always been really happy with the results. I recently moved to Kelowna and was looking for a new Dr. when I came across The Cerulean Institute and all it's glowing reviews.

I booked a consultation to see Dr Chetty (at Cerulean) about a year and a half ago about a scar above my lip. During the consultation, my face was photographed and put through a computer program that you could look at deficiencies in volume etc. All very good except I ended up being talked into way more than I had gone there for over a period of two hours. I couldn't wait to get out of there - Dr. Chetty came across as quite egotistical and really pushed me. At the end of it, I had booked 4 different appointments for thousands of dollars that I had to pay in advance to keep the appointments. Dr. Chetty also really tried to push me to get all of it done at once but I felt totally uncomfortable with this idea. In the past I was always extremely conservative with filler - never getting more than one syringe at a time. I want to look completely natural.

At my first appointment I was scheduled for 4 syringes of filler (I actually don't know the type) and botox to the forehead. When I arrived I told Dr. Chetty that I was really nervous about all the volume he was putting in but he was so confident and kept telling me that it was hardly anything. I only have ever put filler in where there is volume loss - NEVER over places like my cheekbones. He started with my temples - all good. Then he did my cheekbones. It felt like he was putting the filler on top but I trusted him. Needless to say, he created ridges under my eyes that were so pronounced that they could hold water. I looked awful - neanderthal-ish. I went back a week later - giving it time to settle down. It still looked awful. I was really upset and wanted it dissolved but I no longer trusted him. I cancelled all the other appointments and got my deposits back. On an aside - the receptionist told me she thought I looked great. I told her it was how I felt that mattered. She said "maybe you should get a facelift".

The botox he put in seemed to not really work as I still had almost all the mobility in my forehead.

A year later, I went to someone else and had them dissolve some of it, as my cheekbones were still abnormally pronounced. Now my face looks lumpy and full of shadows under my eyes that were not there before I went to Dr.Chetty. The current doctor said the best fix was to add even more filler, but I just want to go back to looking the way I did before I went to the Cerulean Institute.

Filler also lasts a lot longer than one year. So be certain you have a good injector. I had an amazing guy for years. He is in Redondo Beach and is an actual Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Chetty is a GP. Whilst I think you might get a good GP injecting you. the Plastic guys really know what they are doing. I am now thinking I need to fly to California just to get my face fixed. I now doubt that all the before and after pictures in Chetty's office are his work.
