Buyer Beware

I went to Dr. Hayre last year to have some refreshing prior to my second wedding and 50th High School reunion Although I looked okay I thought it would be good to have some small touch-ups.
I had been a patient of Dr Hayre's since 2014. She placed filler under my eyes which was problematic and removed by another dermatologist.
I went back to her again after she offered me free Vanquish treatments in exchange for use of my pictures. Over the years I paid alot for several other treatments and again offered free treatments in exchange for photos. I was seduced by the free offers.
At my last treatment with Dr. Hayre she insisted on doing procedures that I really did not feel comfortable with. I did not feel I needed the amount of treatments she felt was necessary for a good result.
She put fillers in my cheeks all around my face and under my eyes.
During this procedure the electricity went off in the building and Dr.Hayre continued to work on me with a staff cell phone flashlight!!!
She said I would look lumpy and lopsided if she stopped and assured me she could see perfectly fine.
I know now, how very vulnerable and afraid I was. I can't imagine in retrospect allowing her to do all she did and to continue working on me with a staff's cell phone flaslight . I ended up getting sick from so many vials of filler. My fiance had to pretty much carry me out of the office
The end result was horrible not only did I look like I was on Mega prednisone, my face so swollen and distorted, my skin was bruised with hematomas and bumpiness under my eyes .
My face was hardly recognizable. I was frantic.
I was getting married in less then a month.
I didn't look anything like myself.
I contacted her and asked for her assurance that this would change and I would look normal
I asked for an appointment right away . Her response was to just wait that it needed some time to settle down. After a couple weeks things still didn't look better. I contacted the office again and requested an appointment. My appointment was canceled by the staff and I was told that the doctor had
insisted I wait.
After several weeks of waiting and my impending wedding I made a consultation appointment with a very respected dermatologist in Washington DC.
My nightmare was confirmed. This was going to take time and money and there might be permanent damage. She began the process of slowly removing a little bit of filler at a time and restoring my skin. My skin condition was so poor from overstretching, microneedling by an unsupervised staff and the threads that had been placed in my face previously became red and infected. I ended up with a cellulitis under my eye.and had months of treatments.
Because of my previous relationship with her money concerns and added stress I decided I would not pursue a malpractice case.
I wrote her a honest letter telling her how difficult it was for me to write the letter because I liked her as a person but I was extremely dissatisfied with her work and all the reasons why.
I requested a refund. I
I let her know I had seen another dermatologist who began the painful process of undoing what was done.
Dr Hayre never responded to my letter. Several weeks later I received a letter from her insurance company stating that they were going to investigate my claim.
After over a year of back and forth with the insurance company and her several lawyers I was told the doctor felt she had a defensible case and I would not get any refund. I paid Dr Hayre almost 7,000 and as much to try to fix the problem.
I have been ashamed of myself for allowing myself to be seduced by free treatments and for allowing myself to get in this situation.
I have talked with a counselor and my doctors. It has been a challenging year I have tried not to be so hard on myself for wanting to look good.
I honestly believed that Dr.Hayre in good faith would recognize that her work was not up to standard and refund my money.
I was wrong.
I did not go to my high school reunion and I postponed my wedding. It was a difficult choice.
The crazy thing is I didn't look bad prior to going in for what I thought would be some refreshing .
I have been hesitant to write and share my experience. I have been self conscious about sharing any pictures
I decided to do so thinking it might help me move on.
I also hope it can prevent someone else from a negative experience. Even a good Doctor can overtreat and have a negative outcome.
The patient should not have to suffer.

Oh my, what you have been through! Thank you for having the courage to share your experience (and pics) in the hopes of moving and helping others. I'm struggling with a post-Restylane edema under one eye. It's absolutely nothing compared to what you've experienced but it's given me a glimpse of how it feels to spend a lot of money to look worse. It seems to be a common theme on this site. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I hope your eye edema resolves itself. There are actually a lot of good doctors who have integrity. I think my doctor got caught up in trying to grow and all her media blitz and expansion of her practice. She forgot human decency and responsibility. I have trouble with a doctor or anyone who does not stand behind their work. She should have refunded me the money I paid at the very least.
Sending positive vibes your way....will post more photos

Oh my god. How horrible. I go to a plastic surgeon and the last time I was there she suggested filler in my cheeks to pull up my sagging jawline. As great as she is, I couldn’t do it. I was so afraid I’d look distorted. Like Jenny mc Carthy. What the hell did she do to her face with fillers? As much as I hate seeing my sagging jawline I think I’ll pass on the juvaderm. Thank you for the warning. I’m So sorry this happened to you

I am posting some additional pictures the after procedures that were done by dr. Nicole hair prior to my wedding in my high school reunions. These pictures don't look anything like me and I am embarrassed and ashamed of myself for allowing this to happen. I know we all want to look our best and sometimes in the hands of overzealous doctors that can be a problem. I have seen lots of people who have had wonderful work done. I urge anyone getting procedures done to take it slow and find a good doctor especially one who will stand by their work and take care of the problem or reimburse you if things are not up to standard

It has been almost two years of. Trying to resolve the faulty work. Of Dr. Nicole Hayre. It has been a devastating. Experience to come out looking worse then better when you want some refreshing. As well as emotionally and financially draining.
I am grateful that I have worked with someone who has helped me. Get through this. I am just beginning to look like myself again. And feel confident when I go around people I know. The worst part is that the doctor. Didn't even call me. To discuss the problem even though I was a long-time patient. She just sent my letter to her insurance company who never resolved the issue with me. I hope anyone. Who goes to a reputable doctor and has a problem? Can resolve it with the physician and that Bates Edition stands behind his or her work.

Oh my god. I was thinking about doing filler before what is happening in the world now. Your story and photos have given me pause. Your face. What the hell did that dr do?? Thank you for saving me the heartache and tears. I'll resolve to age gracefully.

Thank you for your comments. The reason that I came forward was reeling to let people know that sometimes and more often than we realize it problems do occur. That is why you get a very professional doctor who will stand by their work and not be guided by Beauty only. As I said in my previous post we have become a world obsessed with beauty. It is moments like this with all that is going on in our world that we can reflect on what is truly important. So again if you decide to get filler please make sure you get a reputable doctor we will stand by their work who doesn't go to extremes just to make money and has your best interest. Take care

You don't know if they stand behind their work until they do...or don't. This doctor is apparently unethical as was show by these pictures and the backup story.

I'm still struggling have had lots of damage to my skin because of the excess filler overstretching and threads that were protruding and other procedures that were improperly done. I saw an a highly respected dermatologist in Washington DC who slowly and meticulously week by week dissolved excess filler took out the the protruding threads and attempted to work on my damaged skin with laser. Is has been and extremely challenging time. I think if you're in the hands of a competent conservative doctor who doesn't go over and beyond the normal standard you will be fine.
Take care
