Had fillers done by a nurse practitioner, terrible results. Over filled, infection, still suffering with terrible pain on my cheek bone. Consulted several plastic surgeons, they all agree, I have infraorbital injury. This injury is usually sustained by direct injury to the nerve which created a hematoma . It has been 6 months and I still have so much on the bone.

I read your skin was wrinkly where hyaluronidase dissolved. Did it come back your win HA? How long ago was it you dissolved?

I still have wrinkles where the filler was dissolved. Its been a year, I developed neuropathy, Im suffering with much pain and swelling on the side of the injection. I finally got an approval for a ct scan. Hopefully I can see what its going on

Have you recovered? Did you have pain from hyalase?

No, Im still suffering from pain and swelling on the area, some days are better than others. I recently had an MRI done, it shows damaged to the salivary gland due to injury (possible cause by the injection). Its been a hard journey for me, I still have wrinkles on the site where the Hyalase was injected, it seems the collagen on that side its gone so the right side looks totally different than the left side. I have not been able to do anything to correct it because I'm afraid it will exacerbate the pain.

Same with me. How long has it been since you had hyalase?

Hi Mimibates,
Could you please let me know or PM me which specialist read your MRI and saw the damage to your salivary gland? I am also in the Bay area and had a similar experience a year ago when a dermatologist hit my 5th cranial nerve while injecting filler in my jaw line. That has caused an awful amount of painful symptoms in my ear, teeth, throat, cheek and has unfortunately also caused vision problems. I have had an MRI done of the brain as the neurologist wanted to see if something else is causing the symptoms such as a tumor but that was negative. They also did an MRA of my head, I still have the images but would love to find a specialist that can actually see what damage the filler and the injection itself has caused as my neurologist does not have any experience with that. I did not have any hyaluronidase injected as both specialists I saw after were against it and worried it would cause more problems. It was thankfully regular Restylane so hoping overtime it will dissolve on it's own. I still have pain although better than what it used to be. I am so sorry for what you are going through, it is a nightmare!

Unfortunately I don't have the name of the doctor who read the MRI right now but I can find out for you. The name of the place where the MRI was done is: RadNet Medical Imaging/San Francisco, phone number 415-922-6767 .
