I am so happy to hear that you're surgery was a success, i will be going to dr rankin in 3 months, any recommendations?
June 21, 2016
Definitely. Continue to do research. write down any questions that you may have and don't be shy about asking. If you are not good with pain, like me, check out Experal. It's a pain blocker that helps for about 72 hours after surgery. I got it and it was wonderful and I took much less narcotics because I did not need it. Line up help for the first week of possible. I had a basket with my meds and a journal with times to take them. Especially the antibiotics. Lots of protein to aid in muscle repair. I'm doing a shake. I do a probiotic as well. I had milk of magnesia, enemas and prunes available for the constipation! I did whatever Is necessary! I'm still eating prunes! I do not have a recliner so I bought a zero gravity chair, I saw it in this forum, and slept in it actually up to 2 days ago. If you workout, definitely continue to strengthen your upper body and legs as that will help you not to rely on your core during this time. Follow their instructions, lol. I'm still doing this although it's killing me not being able to work out. I do a resistance band for my upper body for now. As I was starting to get nervous as the day approached, someone said to focus on the end result, a flat stomach!

June 21, 2016
You will be fine. I look forward to following your journey!

Anothwr question, someone suggest that i try and loose as much weight as possible before surgery, do you think this is necessary
June 21, 2016
Definitely a great idea! You have more than enough time. I was usually at the gym 3-4 times a week already. But before I even made a consultation I worked on fine tuning my eating and lost about 12 pounds. I wanted to lose more but could not seem to budge and decided to just go ahead. This will definitely boost my workout confidence!

Please share the cost of your procedure. Thank you so much. You look fabulous!!

Hi. Thank you! The full TT with muscle repair was $8300. I added an additional pain blocker, which I absolutely loved for $300. Hope this helps!!!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you sharing. It's so helpful. I just requested to schedule a consultation with him. Thanks so much again. Happy healing. You really look fabulous! I'm going to continue to follow you to see your progress. A few friends of mine from the PBSO had their TT's with him but it's been some time so I was curious to see what his costs are now. I will get the pain blocker also. Thanks again

Wow so low and seems so thin. I'd love to know the cost associated as I am looking at the moment :) happy healing! You look great!!
June 18, 2016
Hi! Thank you, it is low. I had a scar from an emergency surgery and 2 c-sections that did not heal well and needed to be removed. He did an awesome job! It was 8,300 for TT, MR and Lipo of the hips. Hope that's helpful!
June 19, 2016
What is MR?
June 19, 2016
oh muscle repair?
June 20, 2016
Muscle repair
June 20, 2016
you look great how do you feel today?
June 20, 2016
Thank you! Actually pretty good. I have to keep reminding self that it has been less than 3 weeks and I have to continue to take it easy, lol. Are you scheduled for surgery yet?
June 20, 2016
Teefran- did he do an incision around your belly button? I don't see an incision and I thought that is how they do a muscle repair.
June 20, 2016
Hey 40inFlorida. He did have to create a new hole for my old belly button. He did a surprisingly good job!
June 20, 2016
That's interesting.
One thing I keep seeing with his work, is his belly buttons always turn out really well. Your BB looks the same in the before and after pictures. That's great. Alot of PS don't do a good job with BB.
June 20, 2016
Yes. I was nervous about that since I had seen horror stories on here about belly buttons and infections!

Hey There! Still here!

Tucktan
Hi Ladies! Just a little update! I got one drain out at 8 days post op and supposed to get the last one out tomorrow! My recovery has been pretty good so far. Only one day (2) was I really in pain and attribute that to not having a bowel movement. I succumbed to milk of magnesia and finally an enema! Since then, at the advice of my mother, I started eating prunes in the morning with my protein shake and I've been consistent ever since. Oh, I also take a probiotic with my antibiotic (still taking since I have the drain) to put back all the good stuff the antibiotic also kills, lol! My patient care with Dr. Rankin and his staff has been everything I hoped for. Always available and ready to answer any questions still at this point. This to me is priceless! I drove for the first time yesterday to my children's camp production and to get something to eat and that was enough for me. It's amazing how the body tells you when it's time to chill. I've really been following the doctors orders and as much as I want to do more, I have not. I wear that darn binder most of the time and when I feel it getting too tight, especially when I'm out, I sit my butt down and chill for a few minutes. I feel that I've invested too much money into this to risk "messing it up". Anyway, here's a picture. I decided to try on an old bathing suit out of curiosity and here it is. I can't wait for everything (swelling, soreness, drains) to come together! This is just the beginning of the journey!

good for you I pray all goes well, I made my deposit now I'm switching doctors to stay local but I am next looking to schedule late july-Aug of this year,, how do I add pre-op & post-up photos to get started with my journey?
June 14, 2016
You look amazing. I looked at all of your before and after pictures and it indeed tells a positive story. When you get a chance, can you post a picture of the scar?
June 14, 2016
Thank you so much! I sure will. Look for it tomorrow. Have you made a decision yet on the surgeon?
June 14, 2016
I'm working on making a decision. If Dr. Rankin's Patient Coordinator could provide me with more information, I would have had it done yesterday. I look for concrete answers and when I get any thing other...I hesitate. I used to work in the medical industry and have seen wonderful things and some not so wonderful things. I'm not one to make a quick decision and I certainly due my research. I felt very comfortable around Dr. Rankin when I had my consultation and he answered all of my questions. However, I need reassurance through looking at before and after pictures and not just a surgeons word. I'm still nervous because the busiest surgeons aren't marketing and advertising a lot and his office seems to advertise a lot..so then I get skeptical.
I emailed Beatrice for more pictures several weeks ago, but she said she would talk to Dr. Rankin to get additional pictures and told me I should come in for a consultation again. So with that being said, why would the coordinator have to ask the surgeon for more pictures....that seemed odd to me because the coordinator has the pictures. Then they use a CRNA which is great for cost benefits, but since I have high blood pressure, that is a concern for me that maybe I need to be in a hospital with an anesthesiologist . So..I still have concerns.
June 14, 2016
I can definitely understand those concerns. Funny because my first impression of the Doctor was that he was too low key and I looked elsewhere, but when comparing, I found that Beatrice and then eventually Lauren (one if the nurses) did answer questions for me in a very timely manner. You being in the medical field though and having medical concerns I know your questions are different. Not enough pictures was a concern, but I did know someone personally who went to him and was able to see the work firsthand. Then... Seeing someone else on real self was a God send! I can tell you that after many years of contemplation and going with him, my experience this far has been good. I'm impressed so far! I was really afraid of the pain after and it has been soooo manageable! Keep searching until you feel it's right. I'll send the scar pictures in a bit!

Wow, your looking fabulous! I'm so happy you had such a good experience with Dr Rankin, I think they're the best!!! Thanks for posting, it's nice to share this journey with others!
June 16, 2016
Thank you Kemjem! This forum is fabulous! You look so amazing at 6 weeks. I can't wait to get there. How do you feel? Are you back to your normal activities. You're wearing the original compression garment or something else? I wear the original but looking to change up to my other one. Will continue following your journey!

I'm so happy I found this site, it has been so helpful and encouraging!!! I don't personally know anyone that has had a mommy makeover so it's nice to not be alone in this! I'm feeling really good! My muscles feel weak and tire easily but I just started upping my protein intake and I think that is helping! I wear my secondary compression almost all the time! I will post a pic! It's uncomfortable but I sit all day for work, so I wear it. I wore my original binder till week 4! Maybe that's why my muscles are still weak and tire easily...I might wear these things too much!
June 16, 2016
That would be great. I wear my first stage as annoying and sometimes uncomfortable as it is, but I know it works! I tire easily too but it's only two weeks today so I'm still kind of taking it easy! Protein is such a great muscle repair. I've been taking one shake a day since day one! Your journey and seeing what I have to look forward to from the same Doctor is very encouraging. How is your swelling?
User Avatar
June 16, 2016
My swelling gets better but slowly! If I over do it or have too much sodium I swell more! I notice it around my incision and hips where Lipo was done. My Lipo site still feels a little tender when I take my garment off! Does yours? Now that I'm recovering I'm eating healthier, my fiancé was feeding us a lot of carbs and eating out! He has been so supportive and doing so much for us, but we have different ideas of healthy food!!
June 16, 2016
Most definitely sore around the Lipo site. I also had a little Lipo on my lower back so when I get a hug it hurts! I also have to massage my hip area where the Lipo was done because it's like a little "knot". I keep hearing that the swelling will get better over time, sooo at this time I'll take the swelling over what I had before, lol!
User Avatar
June 16, 2016
Yes, I'm ok with my swelling, it's much better than the rolls I had before!! My clothes are fitting much looser, I can't wait to get a new bathing suit this weekend!
June 16, 2016
Happy bathing suit shopping! I'm looking forward to a looser fit. Haven't put jeans on yet because the tape on the incision is very tender! I have time!
June 17, 2016
Funny talking about bathing suit shopping after a TT. I just purchased a bikini and when I looked in the mirror, I said...I would look so much better if I just got a TT.
June 17, 2016
Lol! It most definitely will! The difference almost brought me to tears!

You look GREAT! Like you I only want a TT w/Lipo; I'm not into that whole fake-butt/hip trend look, that has everyone looking the same nowadays. Why I'm saying this, in the photos of your TT I've noticed that your butt protrudes out more giving you a great natural shape. That is exactly what I'm aiming for. I want a super flat stomach with small waist. So thanks for sharing, your results are amazing so far.
June 22, 2017
Thank you @SimplyFab82! The doctor slight lipo right above the butt and I think that it did the trick! Good luck!!
