I have had fillers put in my tear troughs a couple...

I have had fillers put in my tear troughs a couple of times with great success. All were done in Nashville, TN. Well.... I recently moved to Palm Beach, Florida and decided I needed a freshening up since it had been 2.5 years since my last filler for under my eyes. I'm 54 mind you and rather thin (Crohn's) so there are times I feel I'm older looking than my actual age.
I looked online and found a dermatologist who is thought of highly in Jupiter, Florida. I went to him twice for botox and figured I hadn't heard anything bad about him, couldn't find bad reviews online, so I gave him a try. I liked the botox he used so I went back. This time for fillers in my cheeks. He did a good job, very subtle. I also liked that he never pushed me to do anything else. I figured he would be able to do the tear troughs - no problem. ***PROBLEM***
I knew as soon as it happened too because I could feel the needle hit something or at least move in a way that didn't feel right. He said, to me, "Did that hurt?" I told him it had, but we continued.
As soon as I got home (after putting ice on it for hours) I began to feel as though there was something wrong and there sure was!
Not only did I have severe bruising around my eye, but also I had swelling that looked as though the Voluma had pooled into one area! It looked as though I had been hit in the eye. HARD. The left eye appeared to be fine besides a little bit of bruising. It reacted the way I always had before. It looked terrific.
Now, I'm not sure what was used in my eye area before in Nashville because it had been years since I had had it performed. I know he used Voluma this time (I was unaware that it was not to be used in that area or else I wouldn't have allowed it) and to be sure, I called his office ad asked the receptionist to read my file to me. Sure enough, Voluma.
As you can see from the photos, there is significant swelling and pooling toward the outer portion of my eye. The swelling continues toward my inner eye area. The bruising is quite prominent also and very, very dark.
Now I am searching for a solution to remedy this situation and to have it done locally.
I welcome all comments and suggestions.

healing, but SLOWLY
TexasLonghorns2October 22, 2014
So, it's been 9 days and I am healing, but ever so slowly. I did go back 2 days after to have the doctor take a look at it. He said that sometimes this just happens. He said I was the first person this has happened to that he has serviced. I hate to say this, but I believe him. He said that because the bruising was so bad it gets hard for the fluid (voluma) to move so it gets stuck above the bruise. So until the bruise is gone (and it's still black and large) I am stuck with a rather massive bubble under my eye.
It really sucks because I paid for botox also and by the time the bruising is gone, the botox will be gone also - soo that was a huge waste of money. I wasn't offered a refund. Instead they gave me some make up to help cover it. Thanks? =(
Will I go back to him? I don't know. I like him as a doctor, he's kind and I'm the only one I've seen at the office who has ever waked out looking worse then they walked in. He is also one of the best dermatologists in the area for removing moles and cancerous moles. I'd hate to lose a good doctor because of a once in a while type of mishap.
I uploaded another picture to show the slow progress of my eye. It's still swelled and still really bruised. It's not a great picture because I can't get it clear enough up close and I am taking the picture myself.
If anyone is from this area and you know of other doctors who do a great job, please let me know.
Any suggestions?

I've heard Dr. Kenneth Beer is good in West Palm Beach. Your swelling looks better. Bruises last like what seems like forever on the face. I hope you get full resolution sooner than later. Best wishes...

Hey Thanks. I think the swelling is just about the same. I'm looking into going to someone to have them use the solution that can shrink the swelling. I have thought long and hard about it and I will NEVER go back there. BOTH my eyes look like crap. I have swelling under both eyes and the right eye makes me look like a freak. I tried to b nice, but the more I think about it and get approached by people and I tell them what happened (yes, I tell them WHO did it) I am more frustrated. I look worse in person. I will never be able to go back to work. SRGH!

I hope the solution works for you and reverses the filler. I am leaning towards Restylane. I hope you will update when you're doing better.

Hello,
I believe that you should consider speaking with legal counsel if the doctor will not treat this problem or even offer a refund. Mistakes can and do happen in any industry to any person but issues with health related topics are the most important - its what malpractice insurance was designed for originally. If you don't stand up for yourself at least pay someone else to!

So sorry for your poor results. I have been doing voluma for almost a year. I would highly recommend Dr Jackie yee she specializes in injectables. Dr yee is a master of her craft. Baker plastic surgery. Check out Her reviews!

The other doctors I have talked to said Voluma is too thick to use in the eye trough area. It's just plain scarey to have anyone who is not a specialist in the eye area injecting a substance so close to my eyes. I will never again have a DDS doctor inject anything in my eye area. I value my eyesight more than I hate the hollows under my eyes.

It looks like overfill not swelling. Bad technique by the injector. He's full of crap when he says it's never happened to any of his other patients. Hope that stuff dissolves for your sake ;))

Rejuvius
TexasLonghorns2October 29, 2014
Hello all,
My swelling is slowly going down, but the black and blue bruise is still quite large.
That said, I read online about two products called Rejuvius and Juveliere.
I cannot find any REAL reviews about these products. All I can find online are advertisements.
I'm wondering if ANYONE has used these and if they are good products to incorporate into a daily routine.
