I met Dr. Bharti at the worse time in my life. I was scared and confused. At the age of 31 years old I was facing breast cancer. I was a single parent, sole provider of my two daughters, and very terrified of my future. I was preparing to have a double mastectomy and needed breast reconstruction. My surgeon sent me to Dr. Bharti for a consult. He was a great comfort to me as I cried listening to what was going to be done to me. He reassured me all was going to be alright and that he would be with me every step of the way. He and his nurse Erin became my best friends throughout my procedures. If I had a problem or question he called me back ASAP with an answer that I was comfortable with. If he felt I was in doubt he would have me come to the office just to make me feel better. I am very pleased with my implants and over all reconstruction. He did a beautiful job on my breast. I am very thankful that I had such a caring doctor to hold my hand through a horrifying time in my life. I have an awesome set of breast now. All thanks to a great plastic surgeon. Thank You Dr. B for giving me a normal life back! You are the BEST!!!!!!

I'm so happy your surgery went well and that you had a doctor and nurse you were comfortable with throughout the process. I can't imagine how tough this was as a young, single mom. Did you get your implants placed immediately or did you have to wait a few months for treatment? I'm guessing you may have had expanders and fills? Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf!

Hi Beth H. Thank You for your kind words. I started the reconstruction process as soon as I had the mastectomy. They placed The expanders that day 11/21/2012 and I received my silicone implants in April 2013.

Thank you for your response. Did you match the size of your original breasts or did you change your size slightly? Assuming you had some help with your daughters? This must have been a really difficult time for you. So glad to hear you're happy and healthy now. ;)
