Consultation review: negative experience dealing with this office
Bad Experience with Dr. Steinbacher and His Office
Update #2: Dr. Steinbacher’s office still refuses to give me a revised surgery quote, even though the office had incorrectly calculated the CT Cosmetic Tax on the quote… Also, although Dr. Steinbacher told me if I take down this negative review that I could have an updated quote, his Practice Manager wrote me that she refuses to give me an updated quote. What a dysfunctional office! If my boss told me to do something and I do the opposite, I would be fired. With the above in mind, I wonder if Dr. Steinbacher was sincere in what he told me… Well, my review is not only still up; I’ve updated it!
Another issue it took almost 2 months for my insurance to receive a claim for my visit with Dr. Steinbacher.
I saw Dr. Steinbacher for a consultation regarding orthognathic surgery to correct my malocclusion and compromised dentition. I clearly presented myself to Dr. Steinbacher and his office as a prospective orthognathic surgery case. During the consultation, he brought up inappropriately cosmetic recommendations, which were later reflected in the surgery quote. Because the nature of the consultation changed from my original purpose for seeing Dr. Steinbacher, as he injected the cosmetic recommendations, I didn’t get to address all of my medical concerns. Also, I have to say Dr. Steinbacher’s office was very difficult to work with. His office refused to send me a revised quote, excluding the cosmetic recommendations that my insurance wouldn’t likely cover. Even Dr. Steinbacher a few days ago told me that the office could send me a revised quote. I haven’t received that quote, even though I had an email and call yesterday from the Practice Manager, who didn’t acknowledge my repeat requests for the revised quote. When an employee doesn’t listen to the boss and the customer, that could be the sign of a dysfunctional business. Also, the Practice Manager wouldn’t answer directly my repeat questions as to whether Dr. Steinbacher requires patients to have ancillary procedures of fat grafting and PRP with orthoganthic surgery. Insurance doesn’t usually cover fat grafting and PRP. Relatedly, the office calculated the incorrect total for Connecticut Cosmetic tax in the original quote they sent me. That’s another reason why I wanted a revised surgery quote. Overall, a very negative and stressful experience for me interacting with Dr. Steinbacher and his office.
