pure hell

Yesterday was just horrible. I had to take the suradical bra off to wash it (lots of ooZing). For the interim, I put on a shelf bra tank top.
O.M.G the swelling that occured. Not only the swelling, but I moved my arm the wrong way when putting the tank on and had horrible muscle pain for the rest of the day. No amount of medicine or ice could touch the pain. I ended up throwing up and being nauseated the entire day. I felt like I had a huge setback.
But, once I put the surgical bra back on, took another round of pain. Meds, and was able to keep food down, the pain subsided.
I ventured out of the house today (before the pain died down), and I got very discouraged. The drive was not bad at all. What was bad was the inability of get in and out of the van comfortably. And then to walk into the gas station, successfully grab the ginger ale, and make it through the check out. I had to leave my husband in the line and walk outside to vomit.
So, it is safe to say that while u am getting better, the recovery is not pleasant. Not going to lie, I feel envious of those who do not have this much pain with their recovery. I keep seeing women post that "you truly do not need pain medication past the first 24 hours". I'm sorry, maybe YOU didn't need the pain medication, but *I* do. I was so pumped up that this would be an easy recovery and it has been far from that. Even my husband underestimated the recovery. Told me I wasn't trying hard enough. That was the worst part because I hate being a burden on anyone.
Anyways.....back on topic.
Embrace the recovery, be it easy or difficult. Everyone is different and DO NOT beat yourself up that you're not doing xyz 24hrs after surgery.

First four days

Here's the pictures from the first four days of recovery.

After years and years of pregnancy and weight...

After years and years of pregnancy and weight gain, my husband finally convinced me to go in to see if I could get my insurance to cover a reduction. My husband and I met when we were 12, and were now 33.he has seen every stage of my boob growth. From being a C when we met to swelling to an I while nursing our children, to seeing me "deflate" back down to a G when all was said and done. He finally felt that I had been suffering long enough with the massive heavy boobs that he set the appointment for the referral for me!

Wemt into my PCM to ask for the referral, and she was very quick to say not a problem amd submit the request to the insurance company. Within two weeks I had a consultation set up with Dr. Church. Dr. Church immediately put me at ease. He asked me what size I was, what size I wanted to be, and what kind of problems my breasts were giving me. After that he did some measurements, took some pictures, and told me that I was a textbook case of needing a reduction. He was skeptical about insurance approving the procedure, but only because this insurance is known for declining the procedure.

Two weeks later, I recieve a call saying that my insurance approved it! I was literally in the middle of a busy store and started jumping up and down with happiness. I scheduled the pre op for 6 days later, and the prodecure for 13 days after the pre op.

Flash forward to this past Monday, the 24th. Dr Church was amazing. He was very thorough with explaining everything to my husbamd and myself. Everything he said would happen happened.

Now, four days post op and I am very pleased with everything. I still am extremely sore, cant lift my arms much at all. Lots of soreness in my pecs, shoulders, bis, tris, and lats. The incisions themselves dont hurt at all. Tons of bruising, but I exoected that. Thank goodness for percocet, even if it does make me itch (benadryl takes care of that). I can finally go pee alone!
