Dr. Garcia did an excellent job on my ears. One of my ears stuck out much further than the other and had bothered me since I was a child. A year after my initial surgery they were still a bit uneven but after a touch up I could not be happier. Everyone in the office is kind and professional and made me feel very comfortable with the procedure. I've gone to Dr. Garcia for years for Botox and I am very happy that I chose him to perform my otoplasty as well.

Update! It has been 4 years since my procedure and I am still very happy. I am careful with my ears as a precaution when getting haircuts etc, but nothing has really changed since about a year after the second procedure. I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone considering- just be sure to do prior research into providers and ensure the surgeon you select has experience with the procedure and can provide information and before and after photos for review.
I ask because I had otoplasy in 7th grade and I'm wondering if my kids will likely have protruding ears as well. Others in this thread might be able to chime in as well... for those of you with kids, did they inherent your protruding ears?
In most kids I see, it looks like they typically get the ears of the father. For the record, I am a male but my dad doesn't have protruding ears. My older brother doesn't have them either. I'm HOPING my case was a birth defect and won't be passed to my kids. Or maybe they will get my wife's perfect ears. If mine was a birth defect, will that defect be passed down to my kids?
There's also a product called Ear-Buddies and people have had good experience with them. It needs to be used when kid is very young though.
