I am excited and nervous to go on this new journey. I have three grown children 36, 32, and 31yo. I have 3 grandchildren 5, 2 1/2, 1 1/2 . I have wanted a tummy tuck for a very long time! When I found out that i may need a hysterectomy, I started doing a little research. I googled hysterectomy and TT and to my surprise it was not unheard of. My Gyno was fine with it, so I just had to find a PS. She gave me two recommendations. I checked them both out and chose Dr. Shelby Brantley. He and his staff have been so easy to work with. They recommended this web site and I found out that I am not the only "Glammaw" out there who is looking to get a little nip and tuck. I will update as the date gets closer. Oh, I forgot to say my surgery is scheduled for Oct. 31! Scary!!

Thank you so much for joining us.  You are having the works done and are about to feel like a new woman.  Do you have help lined up for the first couple of weeks?    You will need to really papmer yourself the first 4-6 weeks.

Check out the October Forum where you will make great connections with others also having surgery this month.  You will be able to share some great tips and gain support there.

May I ask why did you decide on a hysterectomy and how old are you?

Sure, I went through menopause 8 years ago. In June of this year I started bleeding again. Every other week I was cramping and having PMS symptoms. I had a vaginal ultrasound and it was discovered that I had a thickening uterus. (All of these are symptomatic of uterine cancer.) I had a D&C in July. No cancer! But my symptoms remained. I was treated with high doses of Progresterone which lessened my symptoms but they did not go away. My only real choices were live with it or have a hysterectomy. I have dreamed of a TT for years, and living with perpetual PMS is not going to happen

I'm another Glammaw and had TT/FL/NL and eyes done 7 weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to be staying at a recovery center in Costa Rica. I don't remember day 1 or 2 and had only the one night in the clinic. Don't know how you are with the anesthetics but I'm a goner for 2 days. Oh, and my tummy, tight as a drum, with a very nice new BB. If you have any questions, don't be shy to ask.

I am so excited for you. I have started research on both procedures myself. Im glad to hear that the combination isnt heard of. Ive been dealing fibroids for years and tried multiple procedures only to discover the fibroids grow back. So ive finally decided to get the partial hysterectomy and may as well get the mini tt at the same time. Best wishes on your procedure. This website is just what i need. Thanks for sharing!

I am now coming up on my One Year Anniversary! And I have never been happier to have done hysterectomy/TT. I had robotic hyst, Tummy Tuck with muscle repair and lipo on abs and sides. Recovery was not bad. Just waking up from the anesthesia was rough. I had a few days of tightness and yes, there was some minor pain which was easily remedied with the pain meds. I really think that the recovery from the lipo was the worst. Feels like a bad sunburn on the underside of your skin! Only hurts when you touch it! I am now 16 days post op from a breast lift/reduction with implants. Also, eyelid lift, lower face lift and brow lift. I think that I am through now! Good luck! You will be happy when all is said and done. It will be a few days of mild discomfort for a lifetime of being glad that you did it.

I saw my Gynecologist yesterday. Did my pre-op. Everything is still set for the 31st. I am getting really excited! The only thing is she told me that I only get to stay in the hospital for 1 night. I thought it was at least two! Oh, well!
