Rhinoplasty with ENT Surgeon in Istanbul, Turkey

I was motivated to visit Istanbul by my father's recommendations that there are very good doctors there. I initially started my search in Greece, however, I did not find anyone I felt genuinely comfortable with. Of course, for one's mental wellbeing, it is not a good idea to select a surgeon you feel uncomfortable with.

I came across Dr. Murat Enöz's blog over the internet, after I read some good words about him in a Turkish forum (which I had to translate). What stood out from his blog was a sense of raw passion, something which I saw very rarely in other Doctors to be honest. His before and afters looked well crafted, well suited and most importantly, fitting for the faces of those particular patients.

I was confident that I wanted to visit an ENT surgeon, rather than a plastic surgeon. My reasoning behind this is that an ENT has a particularly detailed analysis of the nasal anatomy, and how the nose functions and interconnects with the ears and throat - beyond what a plastic surgeon has knowledge of. This was very important to me, and I really felt that Dr. Enöz could achieve functional improvement in my nose along with any aesthetic developments.

I travelled to Istanbul from the United Kingdom in mid-late November, and had my consultation the day after arrival. His office is located in a very central area of Istanbul close to 'bakirkoy' - there are pharmacies, restaurants and a hospital (vital hospital) nearby.

My first impressions of his office were that it was extremely clean and wel-maintained, completed with modern equipment and generally very spaced. The administrator was very kind and helpful. He is a very busy man, yet his help is very personalised and he always finds time for you and makes you feel comfortable asking him any questions whatsoever.

After entering his office, he scanned my nose, throats and ears - diagnosing me with an ear infection in the process, and also showed me that I had reduced nasal breathing passage in one of my nostrils. I know my nose was rather deviated, but I did not know this. I am glad I chose an ENT surgeon, particularly Dr. Enöz, for this exact reason. Next he took photos of me and we digitally enhanced them together to create an enhanced look that I want to have. I wanted my dorsal hump to be trimmed to create a straight profile, the tip elevated slightly and corrected, and for any deviations to be improved. From the beginning Dr. Enöz was very honest and told me a perfect result cannot be achieved, because every nose is different from inside and outside. But he did guarantee that he would do his best. I was very happy with this, as I saw many false promises from other surgeons that were not reflected in their work. But with Dr. Enöz's honesty there is talent and skill. He makes sure that you are happy and confident in what you want.

I then visited the hospital for my operation. He made me feel very calm on the operating table, and actually made me laugh so much, I forgot that I was having surgery......then after this I woke up in my hospital bed. I do not remember the general anasthesia or falling asleep. It all happened so fast. The next morning Dr. Enöz travelled from his office to the private hospital just to check up on me and give me instructions on how to use medications (that he went and ordered for me the day before). He is very detailed and thourough.

I am now at home recuperating and awaiting for my packing (silicone packing) to be removed and for my cast to come off. I have quite a lot of bruising because my body has a low tolerance for nerve damage I have noticed, but 4 days later much of it is beginning to disappear. I can already saw an overall straight profile, a raised tip and much less deviation. Although it is bruised, I am very very happy with what he did.

I understand that most reviews try to be very balanced and give positive and negative parts of their experiences, but I honestly have nothing bad to say. I am very impressed and pleased with this man's talent, bedside manner and attitude. My experience was very positive although the journey of recovery is rather uncomfortable for every rhinoplasty patient.

For any international patients (like me) considering Dr. Enöz, all that I will say to you is: look for a reliable and trustworthy surgeon who cares for you and is skilled and experienced. For me, Dr. Enöz was all of this. Research him well and form your own opinion. He is more than a doctor; a friend.
