Hair Transplantation in Istanbul
Today I met Dr.Ilker Apaydin.
My hotel was not far away from Newage Clinic and just walked the way to meet Dr.Ilker Apaydin.
The clinic was really chique and staff were friendly.The scenery of Bosphorus from the 12th Floor was amazing.
After I filled up some basic registeration form and having an apple tea the lady in the reception ( her name was Denet) took me to the consultation room and Dr Ilker was waiting for me in the room.I introduced myself and him did the same.
First impression ; he was a bit cold but after the conversation goes by you realize he is chatty.At the beginning we talked about France and how beautiful is Provence.I guess he travels frequently and been to many countries and knows alot about.
After 10 minutes we were talking about medical stuff. Eventhough I have read a lot about hair transplantation I decided to request from Dr Ilker to tell me all as if I know nothing.In a way it was better to hear every single step of surgery and so on. At a point I realized that with the too many information on internet I also took a lot of misinformation. I really can say that I cleared all information on my mind and rebuild all again.
Briefly ; Dr Ilker stated that my donor by fue method will let him harvest 3500-3600 grafts on a single session and he drew the frontal hair line and the area which he will work on at the back.He precisely informed me that he will also perform the extraction part of the surgery himself.That was awsome because I already knew that many clinics in Istanbul are letting their technicians perform that part and I read about this on ISHRS website too.
After 30 minutes patiently Dr Ilker answered all my questions and asked me if I have any further medical questions and I thanked him and asked him about the budget part of the surgery.He simply said “I am a surgeon and I dont deal with that part’ which I appreciated much. After a few seconds a gentelman came up ,his name was Taner and he was the manager.I remembered his name from one of the previous review of a patient on Realself.
We chatted about my trip to Istanbul and asked him a few places if worth to visit.He is a calm person and helpful . He made the offer in written and passed it to me.It was 1 Euro per graft.I asked about possible promotions or discounts. As far as I have seen sometimes they make seasonal promotions for patient groups of 2 or 3. The unfortunate part was there were no available dates for Dr Ilker for this week so we made the appointment fort he upcoming week Monday.Anyway I will visit some places and had fun around as Istanbul is a huge city and there are a lot worth to see.

Tonight I am flying to Istanbul and very much excited for my surgery with Newage Clinic.The plan is having a nice weekend in Istanbul and then meeting with my doctor for consultation.I already had a lot of information on this website about the clinic and talked to the clinic staff about the details.They were helpful and speaking english very well.( although I prefer French) If all goes well I guess I will cover all the cost with 4000-4500 Euro . All wish me luck with my decision and good luck for all searching for a good hair transplantation.
