I had thought about this for about 10 years and eventually make a booking. I was waiting for the right time and doctor. I had a few months where I could set my own hours for work and I had a recommendation for this doctor from my dentist, who did a fab job on my teeth. I fancied a trip to Istanbul so I booked and haven't regretted it. The communication was good. Didem was chatty and helpful. They even booked my hotel. I didn't meet my my doctor before going but I had sent photos and had Didem to liaise with for any questions. When I got there, I had plenty of time to chat, discuss and back and forth with the doctor before any work went ahead. The clinic is right near the airport and I was picked up and taken early morning. The clinic is immaculately clean and very pleasant. In a business centre with local cafe's and amenities. We both decided on a medium size implant and I showed the doctor various photos I had saved of chins I admired. The surgery took longer than I thought but then I thought it would be about half an hour. Actually, chin augmentation is a serious business as bone and muscle is involved and the doctor worked away for about an hour and a half which felt a long time to me. I had a local anaesthetic and I wasn't in any pain at all, I was just fidgity as I'm quite hyper anyway. I like this doctor very much so I've been to see him again since and took my phone and music with headphones which made a big difference. It did look great from the start, even though I was bandaged. There is an immediate effect, although swollen. The swelling took a while to go down, maybe a week and I had just one bruise. I was quite numb whilst eating for about 10 days and kept dribbling my food but didn't care so I went out in public anyway. It was most painful on the third day. I'd resisted any painkillers but had to take a strong ibuprofen that the doctor gave me. It made an enormous difference and I went out that day. Actually I went out everyday. I'd treated myself to a lovely hotel with amazing service and they ran round, getting ice packs for me and delivering soft food I could easily eat. I'm not too worried about what I looked like afterwards so I went out, bandages and all, as I wanted to see as much of Istanbul as I could. 5 days later I returned to the doctor to have my stitches out and then hop on my plane. At home I had no problems and kept sending photos of progress.
