Amazing Surgeon Dr Bora
I had Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty in the Academic Hospital with Dr Bora Ok on 13/06/18 in Istanbul Turkey.
I arrived in Istanbul on the afternoon 12/06/18 (Tuesday) and was met at the airport by a English speaking driver who took me to the 4 Star Volley Hotel in Üsküdar the journey was quick and very comfortable. I checked into the hotel which was very clean with friendly staff, the room was comfortable and perfectly equipped for my stay. The hotel is in a very good and safe location close to shopping malls and restaurants.
Prior to arriving in Istanbul I had been in contact with Dr Bora and his assistant ?lgin for many months and arranged to meet Dr Bora for my face to face consultation at the Academic Hospital the evening before surgery.
From the moment I met Dr Bora I felt at ease as we discussed my concerns with my nose he knew instantly what I was looking for ascetically and answered all my questions, he spoke perfect English and was very sweet which was comforting being away from my home country. The surgery was planned for the next day.
I arrived at the Academic Hospital at 07:30 13/06/18 (Wednesday) checked in and completed the required paperwork. Dr Bora’s assistant ?lgin met me then showed me to the ward.
Dr Bora came and explained the procedure again, marked my nose with pen we laughed and joked then said he would seen me in the operating theatre.
A translator came into to assist the nurses for my medical history and consents. An IV cannula was inserted by the nurses and blood work was taken to check my haemaglobin etc.
I woke up from surgery wearing a split on my nose and a small bandage to collect any leaking from the nose. The surgery was virtually painless more a pressure feeling with the swelling. I spent the night in the Academic Hospital where I was given pain relief, antibiotics and ice packs to help with swelling. I was discharged the next afternoon (Thursday) with oral antibiotics and pain killers.
I had a follow up appointment with Dr Bora on Day 4 post op (Sunday) at his office, during this appointment he removed the silicone airways which was a painless procedure. We then we made arrangements to meet again prior to flying back home.
On day 7 I had my final appointment with Dr Bora and he removed the splint and tapes and I got to see my nose for the 1st time (see attached photos), my nose was cleaned and new tape reapplied which was to stay for the next 7 days.
I am thrilled at my results and the speed of my recovery everything I had asked for had been achieved. I am so happy that I have found Dr Bora and look forward to returning to see him in the near future.
