Great Labiaplasty Experience With Dr Yoo in Irvine, CA

I've always been self-conscious about the size of my labia minora and finally decided to do something about it as a present to myself for getting my second Master's degree and my 44th birthday. My dermatologist recommend Dr Yoo, who trained her plastic surgeon husband when he was a resident.

Dr. Yoo has a great bedside manner, explained the surgery method (wedge), and answered my questions. I opted for local anesthesia and didn't regret it.

Reading the reviews on this site, I've noticed that stitches separation is one of the biggest problems after the surgery. Dr Yoo took his time to ensure I didn't have this complication, and carefully and diligently stitched me up. I had no problems with my stitches, bled very little, and was able to return to work within several days.

After the surgery, I was very worried about the symmetry (see the picture nine days after) because one of my sides was more swollen than the other. Dr Yoo took the time to reassure me and even followed up with a phone call to ensure I was happy and content. I am ecstatic with the results! Dr Yoo, you are the best! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Beautiful results, thank you for sharing realistic images of what others can expect! To help others considering this surgery, what is the #1 piece of advice you have to offer?

Thank you! Research your doctor, be prepared for others trying to talk you out of the procedure (even my own gyno was up in arms), insist on the doctor answering all your questions thoroughly, ask how many procedures he does a month (the more, the better), ask what method the doctor uses (the wedge method worked best for me), and trust your gut - if something doesn't feel right or if you feel dismissed - walk away. In plastic surgery, you get what you paid for - up front or later in poor results.

She called the results beautiful; she didn't put any value judgement on anyone else's anatomy by being kind to me. It's in the eye of the beholder. Some men called my "before" beautiful, I prefer my "after." Please don't take it personally.

U dont have the after pics opened to compare. One is open before and closed after. U dont have opened before and opened after to fully compare

Dear brenvvc, I am sorry you are having a bad day, but if you are not happy with the pictures of my vagina, there are plenty of other for you to browse through. I am happy with my results and with the surgeon who delivered them. That's all I was trying to say. Please move on. I hope you feel better about yourself soon.

FYI, the last picture IS the "open" picture in the same pose as the "before." Yes, a lot of the labia minora is gone. That's the point.

Brenvvc you obviously have an issue with women having labiaplasty, so why are you casting your judgement when there are plenty of other places where you can see women who have not had the procedure? Korovi has stated she's happy with her results, which is all that matters. We are all here to support each other and document the realities of having this surgery. The moderators will delete your comments, but I'm sure you already know that. Korovi, I'm glad you are happy with your results!!

Thank you so much for your support, iwantthestars! You and kind people like you are the reason I chose to share my story. It's shocking to be attacked by a random troll like brenvvc, but what she/he said tells more about her unhappiness than anything else. I hope she gets the helps the help she needs and finds some degree of happiness.

I suspect he/she is the same person who's been making rude comments for months on this site. Never has a profile, always a new account and only posts rude and offensive comments to us. I've ranted back at him/her many times because that's not this site is about. I just don't get why people choose to react this way for something they don't agree with. Why come here if you don't like it? At any rate, I'm happy you are doing well and were brave enough to share your story. It wasn't an easy decision for me to be so public, even though we are anonymous. But all the previous ladies who shared their stories really helped me in my research and recovery so I wanted to do the same. I have no regrets :)

I suspect this person really loathes him/herself. I feel sorry for them. Again thank you for your support-means a lot!

Hello - I go for mine tomorrow and I am getting Local vs. General and I was super nervous but you stated you didn't regret it. Were the injections painful?
November 10, 2016
Wish I saw your comment earlier. Hope it went well. The first injection was not pleasant, but then I went numb, so the rest was fine. You have to prepare yourself for patiently waiting through the procedure and holding still. Let me know how you are doing.
