I had a breast reduction with Dr Curran the end of may. From my first meeting with him he put me totally at ease he understood my reasons for having a breast reduction & said my breasts were way too big for my frame. Because of this & the fact that I was not overweight I would be covered by my health insurance but as I would not be covered in the bons secour hospital he offered to transfer me to a consultant in a hospital where my insurance would cover me. For me having a breast reduction was a big decision & something I had been thinking of for years so I needed a surgeon that I could trust so I decided that I would pay for the operation to have Dr Curran as my surgeon. I am delighted I made that decision he explained the results I could expect my recovery also the complications I could have (none of which happened). He took time to answer all the questions I had I was not put under pressure at any stage to go ahead with the operation he said it was totally my decision to go away & think about it. At the end of the first meeting I was so impressed with him that I was happy to go ahead. On the day of the operation I was excited but very nervous again he told me he would take care of me & put me at ease. When I came around after the operation I felt very sick this was probably the worst part of the recovery. Dr Curran came to see me a few times on the ward he was very reassuring & said everything went very well. My breasts felt much smaller & lighter. I had very little pain it was more uncomfortable I had to be careful not to stretch or lift anything I had to sleep on my back for the first 2 weeks which I found hard. My scars are fine I actually expected them to be much worse they are a small price to pay for smaller breasts. Dr Curran used glue which is much neater than stitches. The main scars are under the breast so they are hidden they have improved so much allready that a few more months should make a big difference to them. To have a breast reduction with Dr Curran was the best decision I ever made I feel like a new woman I have my confidence back my neck & shoulder pain is gone I am wearing clothes I would not have felt comfortable in before. l have a few more months before my breasts will have settled completely & then I will have a shopping spree . To finish I am totally thrilled with the results I am now a size d from a g they are both the same size & are sitting where they should be. I would do it again in a heart beat l was so lucky to have had Dr Curran carry out the operation. His care before during & after the operation was second to none & I will always be grateful to him I would highly recommend him.
