Starting again with new aligners
After 3-1/2 weeks without anything on my teeth, yesterday I went back to the orthodontist office to have attachments reapplied and pick up my new aligners.
18 attachments and 46 sets of aligners! This after finishing 17 trays with my first set of aligners. Unfortunately the first set stopped tracking so we had to start over again. He said I'm 1/3-1/2 way done.
Today I am miserable. It's just like starting all over again. My tongue is so sore from the edges of the trays (even though I sanded them) and the elastics I'm supposed to wear 24/7 have rubbed the insides of my checks almost raw. This afternoon I sanded the lower tray a little more and it felt better but I had to take the elastics off.
Tonight when I go to bed I'll put everything back in but I needed a couple hours this evening without anything to give my poor, acting mouth a break.

Taking an (2 week) Intermission
After 4-1/2 months and 17 trays I am forced to take 2 weeks off my Invisalign treatment.
Unfortunately my trays had stopped tracking on my upper front teeth leaving big gaps between the bottom of the teeth and the trays.
Today I went to see Dr Finelli and he took all my attachments off plus he had the assistant do all new scans, top and bottom. He instructed me to only wear the trays at night until my new set of refinement trays arrive. What a great, smooth feeling but my teeth are very sensitive. As good as it feels all I want to do is get this over with.

Tray #15 of 43
Slowly I am finally starting to see some progress in my upper front teeth. I am still changing trays every 7-9 days and am amazed how fast the time is going. The worst part of the treatment has to be the elastic bands. With new trays they often times rub on my inner cheeks making them a little raw, though by morning the skin has usually healed and my mouth adjusts.
In my photos I've included an image of my bag of goodies I take with me at all times. The tool to remove my trays is from Outie of which I found a pack of 6 on eBay. However, you can also buy them on Amazon as well as other online stores. Putting my fingers in my mouth all the time is kind of gross (at least I think so) so the tool works well.
A couple other products that help to keep my mouth comfortable are Bioteen oral rinse, and Whitening mouthwash. My preferences are the generic versions from Walmart. The mouthwash tingles ands makes my mouth feel so clean and fresh while the Bioteen is rather soothing for the sore spots that can come up. I also tried the Bioteen gel and tablets, both of which I didn't care for. More than anything if my teeth are clean and the trays are cleaned and sanded I don't need any rinses.
