Round 2, April 14 - November 15
Continued widening of the smile, working on the bite, pulling teeth down more and leveling the smile. I became paranoid as the teeth on the right side began to be a little too low in the July time frame and I called my ortho flipping out that I was going to be “Gummy”, which would devastate me!! I was in Italy at the time, and I’d had too much wine, which led to the hysterics. So we had a special consult and agreed we’d let round 2 play out and she promised she would not let me wind up gummy! Things improved by November, but with the bite still not hitting just right, and the need to level the front a bit more, I’ll head into Round 3 the first week of January. But I think they look amazing and I love them.

Round 1, 42 trays
The initial round was a yeoman’s work of pushing the teeth out to correct the side bite, and pull teeth in and down. I would say a successful round although one tooth didn’t track like we wanted so we had to remove that button, knowing we’d work it on the next round. The end result showed significant improvement although the bite was only hitting on the right, and the overall smile was not level yet. But my tongue fit in my mouth without my teeth sitting on it, and I could use my front teeth! Who knew they had a purpose?! And by the way, any notion that you can get away without refinements is a joke to lure you in. “It will only take a year!” No. As my orthodontist says of the Clincheck animation, it’s a cartoon! It’s like a picture of perfectly styled food on a menu, but the real thing needed some work!
