I had never been happy with my lower abdomen despite working out and eating well. After having a baby, I became more self-conscious about the noticeable pooch in fitted clothing. I considered liposuction, but I didn't have the time to recover. Coolsculpting seemed like a much more practical treatment for a busy mom without the luxury of a long recovery period. I had a consultation with Sarah (the medical assistant who performs the procedure) and Mary Beth Templin (the physician assistant who oversees the procedure). Both ladies were extremely knowledgeable about the Coolsculpting process and were very honest about which areas could be treated. I wanted to treat my outer thighs, but was told I wasn't a candidate for Coolsculpting in that area as I didn't have enough of the type of fat that could be pulled into the applicator. I appreciated their honesty rather than encouraging me to go through with a treatment that would not have resulted in my desired outcome. After evaluation, I was determined to be a candidate for treatment of the upper abdomen, lower abdomen, and flanks. I was fitted with 8 applicators in total. I had my abdomen and flanks treated on separate days due to my schedule. They are very accommodating at this office and have two Coolsculpting machines. I felt extremely comfortable with the entire process and felt that the staff made sure I had realistic expectations. This truly is a sculpting procedure rather than a weight loss tool or a substitute for a healthy lifestyle. The procedure itself was not uncomfortable to me. I brought my iPad for entertainment. They have snacks and a TV available in the Coolsculpting suite. Sarah popped in to check on me during the procedure to make sure I was comfortable. There is a call button as well in case you need assistance at any point. I was uncomfortable during the massage which Sarah encouraged me through by reminding me that studies had shown a better result with post-procedural massage. I was also uncomfortable for about 5 minutes after the massage while my skin was rewarming, but I considered this a small price to pay to permanently rid myself of unwanted fat. My skin was sensitive in the treated areas for about 5 days after treatment, but I didn't alter my daily routine in any way and continued to workout. I started to notice results in about a month because my clothes felt more loose in the waist. I didn't take any pictures myself because I knew the ones taken at the office would be more uniform. I can't describe how excited I was to see my before and after collage! It was even better than I had expected. I would highly recommend this procedure and this office!
