So Far, So Magnificent
WORTH IT
I'm 58. I used to be told I looked way younger than my age but suddenly I found that no one was surprised anymore and looking in the mirror, I was greeted by a stranger who looked really tired and kind of angry. It took me a long time to admit it, but needed to lift my jowls and take care of my scowl lines.
In my twenties I'd been treated by Dr. Novick for various adorable young people things and I remembered him to be exemplary in care and in results. I also know he's written books and is noted in his field. So: nothing but Novick would do!
So I went in on a Thursday afternoon, expecting a consultation and a follow up series of appts. But I left THAT very day, with a brighter, lifted face!
Ok, so today is Saturday. It's morning. I have lots of bruising because I'm prone to bruising and I didn't pay attention to the instructions to avoid ADVIL before my appt!
I also have some red spots from a glycolic acid treatment.
But my face looks so much better already that I can't stop looking at myself. And, with makeup, I went out last night and already the friend I was meeting kept saying how great I look!
The scowl lines have not "released" yet. Dr. Novick gave me a muscle relaxer, the name of which I do not at the moment recall (not Botox) and it has worked on the forehead area already, but my elevens are deep and I don't really see a difference yet. It may take longer, or I may just be seeing the etching that will need further correction.
I'm due in a few weeks to revisit for touch-ups and to correct under-eye bags and fill what remains of the elevens.
I will have photos later this evening.

Pretty nasty bruising
The bruising looks, as bruising will, worse today than yesterday. I expect it to be hideous in the next few days, turning yellow and all. Other than that, I'd say that taking pictures has dampened my enthusiasm. :( I am going to get some "before" pix from Dr. Novick before I post the ones I took today to see them side by side. I DO have an appt in three weeks to follow up to touch up any problems and to do under my eyes and fill the etched in elevens between my eyes; I should get more lift from these.
I suspect my jowels had simply gotten out of hand! Owf!
