I had chin, jawline and cheekbone contouring with the newest type of Juvaderm on the market, Juvaderm "Volux". It's specially formulated for jawline contouring and was introduced to the market less than 1year ago. I have had nothing but issues with it and in addition to it being injected incorrectly (was injected into my masseter muscles), it has given me extreme facial swelling and the only thing that will hold the swelling down is steroids. It was injected over 6 months ago and still no improvement. I have had minimal treatment with Hyaluronidaise and the minimal treatment I've had with it has created dents in my face, as the enzyme will burn through your own natural HA and collagen. The dents appeared after a Hyaluronidaise treatment over 2 months ago and are still there. Has anyone else had an awful experience with this filler?

I had volux a year ago and suffered from painful swelling, which didn't subside I also had hyalase 8 months ago, I had 3 treatments to remove it but still have dents, my chin looks a lot worse than before I had volux. I am considering filler, not volux obviously, to try improve it but am worried in case the same thing happens

I'm really sorry that you had such a bad experience. I just heard about this filler and was considering it. I've had fillers in my tear trough and when I have too much sodium my under eye area can swell up and what you've said about swelling seems like it could likely happen to me. Thank you for posting about your experience.

I have used it it MANY patients for the last year with wondeful effect.. swelling is substantial but I WARN my patients of this before so that there is no surprise. In some patients with thin skin, I feel like it can look to heavy (so you have to massage it like crazy to make sure it is smooth with no prominence as these will show!). I have found that some people will take even longer then normal to settle in (one patient look a month!!). I have noticed in a few patient's that there seems to be more redness in the skin which I can not account. This redness is still noted in patients where the filler HAS settled (especially when injected in the crease above the chin and below the mouth).
