I am a 2 yr retired veteran who can no longer do stomach exercises due to injuries. I have decided to get a TT. I'm not trying to have unrealistic goals, I actually love my body EXCEPT for my stomach along with 5 hysterectomy scars. This site has really helped me of what to expect. I think my biggest concern right now is....will I be able to wipe myself after a bowel movement once the procedure is done? My husband will do it but I would rather do it myself....

Most people won't admit to that concern, but I am right there with you! And yes you can. I had an extended TT, I was a bit stiff and sore and it's not as easy as usual, but you will be independent in that area! May have to have help to get you on or off the toilet fora day or too though

You may be able to wipe yourself or you may not. I was 100% unable to do it the first week and I tried, oh how I tried. I was in so much pain and so tight I was unable to reach (I am not a big girl so this was never a problem before sx) and had to ask my dear sweet husband to do it for me. It was horrible and awful for me but he did it without hesitation. He reminded me that he watched me give birth 3x and if that didn't scare him, nothing would! Best of luck on your surgery and recovery!

Thank you for responding and giving me your honest experience. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to have children...so I don't know how this is gonna work...lol...I have to laugh to prevent from crying because my butt isn't The smallest and even though he says that he will do it with no problem....his stomach isn't the strongest. We have been together since I was 16 and married for 12 years so we will have to figure it out. I will keep you updated on the results and provide post op pics. Thanks again!

Tell him to not look at it after he wipes! Wipe, drop flush...and you do a courtesy flush before he comes in to wipe you!

Claresta23 gave me a wonderful answer to solve that problem. I go tomorrow for my pre-op pictures. At this point I'm tapering my eating habits. Eating much lighter and healthier. Time really flys by.....I hope my healing process does the same thing.

No Turning Back!

I went for the pre-op pictures and asked some questions.
I wanted to know when could I use the silicone tape? He said once He removed the stitches and drains. The Dr recommended that I use the silicone tape no more than 2 months, no sex for a month...I asked him about self pleasuring, he told me nobody has never asked him that. I was shocked because that is a normal question..anyway he told me to wait 3-4 weeks on that too! Smh
Well it's nothing to do but wait until the 24th. I will keep everyone posted with pics after it's over.
