I decided to post the skin pics. Here they are. Swelling will still come down a bit more along with me loosing 25 more pounds to goal. Without my compression garments I can wear a size 14. Not bad coming from a 27/28 just 11 months ago! As of today I'm down 126 pounds!!!!

My surgeon is Dr Michelle Lee through DuPage Medical Group. She's fantastic! I'm just over 4 week post op and feel great. The past 2 nights have been the best sleep yet in my bed. I found out I didn't have a hernia. My surgeon checked me out and reviewed my CT and said it was actually my belly button! One less thing to have done. You will do great! First 5 or so days are hard but manageable as long as you stay on top of your meds. I kept a long on my phone and set an alarm on my phone as well to remind me to take them. Especially overnight, you don't want to wake up in pain. Plus if you can, call rent a center and rent the recliner that lifts you to a standing position. It's not that expensive and so worth it! I slept in it for about 3 weeks. Good luck!!

Hi Kimberly I am happy for you..... you have lost so much weight in such a short time..... so proud of you an amazing accomplishment and your surgery went well and you look so good.... I will have my last drain removed tomorrow, it been hurting me. Then I will look better and post photos.. Swelling and sensitivity on my tummy... I won't be a Barbie Doll that's real.... but no more over hang....Did anyone get lipo on flanks? I don't have my waist like before. Is it swelling? Only 25 days We must be patience and we all heal differently. Take care of yourself and your surgery site & belly button looks great..

Still not ready to show my scar yet but here are some pictures with no drain!! I had one in for 3 days and 1 in for 16 days. It's amazing once they come out. It really doesn't hurt, it's just strange. Don't be afraid, it's super fast. You take a deep breath in and on your exhale it's out. I'm healing really well and I see my surgeon at the 7 week mark next.

What don't you want to show your scar? Do you not like the location or how it looks? I know that's very important to us. I got lucky. None of the pics I saw if my surgeon's tt work went down far enough to see the scar. They all stopped at about the belly button or panties covered the scar. When he was drawing me up before surgery I told him please don't give me an uneven, wonky Frankenstein scar. He said he'd try not to. That definitely didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy but I knew there was no backing out at that point. It actually came out being one of the best I've ever seen, but it took me a long time to even look at it. I thought it would look disgusting and I would regret doing this to myself. I'm sure it's not as bad as you may think it is.

I've looked at it a couple of times. It just creeps me out. My family looks at it for me and says it's healing great. I can look at anyone else's scars, rashes, injuries.,, with no problem, but when it comes to my own? Not sure what's up wth that. Once the glue and stuff has all dropped off I'll look again and snap the pictures. I know the bandage doesn't really show much.

Oh okay. I was the same way, so I completely understand.

I did it, if you haven't already seen them. I posted the scar pictures. You made me think about it. Thank you! It really isn't that bad, I really should be proud of myself and how far I've come.

No, it doesn't look bad at all. It will change so much over time. I had some really deep creases at the end of my scar. My doctor told me they would go away as it healed. I was like NO WAY all these creases are going to smooth out. This looks horrible! But they did. Lol. You're doing great. Wear a snug compression garment as much as you can and the swelling will gradually go down. I like a garment much better than a binder. Binders didn't work well for me at all.

I hate the binder! What garment do you use? I'm on the lookout.

My surgeon used Marena. That's what was on me both times when I woke up from surgery. I also ordered one myself when the other became too big. A bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. They're sturdy and compress really well while still being comfortable

Thanks, I'll check them out. Don't care about price as long as they work well and are comfortable.

I can't look at myself yet. I'm too scared to see it. I know it's weird but I've had my "apron" for so long that It's so strange to be without it. I took a shower today for the first time in 6 days. It was so exhausting and really hard to do. However, it really felt good. I'm going to wait until my drain comes out before I take my next shower tho. It's scary to me to have it hanging around my neck from a lanyard. I was so worried I would pull on it. Oh well, at least I'm all clean. I'm still swollen from the surgery in these pictures as well, FYI. Also, I had one of my drains removed at my first post op appointment which was not too bad. She had me take a deep breath in and when I exhaled she pulled it out. By the time I finished exhaling the tube was out. It was a strange feeling, not really painful, just strange. I can't wait to get the other one out!!! I need to sleep on my side... LOL

How did it go? I'm almost 4 weeks out and I feel amazing, I'm so glad I did it. I've lost another 10 pounds since the surgery (from my original weight before surgery and less the skin taken off) so I'm now about 20-25 pounds from my goal. The swelling has come down a lot with more to go down, says my surgeon. I hope you're feeling ok. It gets better every day! Keep your compression garment on all the time. Once your drains come out you will feel like a new woman, I promise you. That was the worse part for me.
