A Pleasant Experience Overall

Overall, I had a very smooth and pleasant experience. I was an out of town patient from Chicago, so my consultation took place only one day before my scheduled surgery date. My breast augmentation went well. I got 235 on my left and 260 on my right with Ideal Implants and I am pleased with the natural size. I felt very comfortable with getting my surgery done with Dr. Colgrove since he has had so much experience. Robyn was also extremely helpful during my consultation when it came to choosing the exact size that would best fit me. Dr. Colgrove only came in for a few minutes during the consultation. He’s pleasant, but not overly friendly. Before my surgery, I felt good about my chosen size thanks to Robyn and the very in depth consultation. The anesthesiologist was also comforting and I wasn’t nervous at all. Waking up from anesthesia wasn’t too difficult and they made sure I got back to my hotel safely. They give you plenty of paperwork so you are left with no questions when you are recovering and at home. They go over everything with you multiple times. My day one post op with the nurse went smoothly, even though I wasn’t able to see Dr. Colgrove himself. I’m only 3.5 weeks post op, so I still have recovering to do, but I am pleased with the result so far. The only downside took place before my surgery. I read on Dr. Colgrove’s FAQ page that I should stop taking birth control two weeks before surgery, which I did. As my surgery date approached, I expected a call from their office letting me know about how to prepare for surgery. I never got this call, so I ended up calling them myself one week before my surgery. They got back to me the next day and told me to stop taking my birth control two weeks in advance of my surgery. I thought this was odd that their office was telling me this now, only 6 days before my surgery. What if I hadn’t read their FAQ page and was still on birth control when I finally got the call from their office? That was the only red flag I had throughout my entire experience, but it did make me feel a bit uneasy. Overall, I recommend Dr. Colgrove. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and professional.
