Underarm Hyperhidrosis Radio Frequency Microneedling
For years I have struggled with excessive underarm sweating. I would sweat through shirts, blazers, coats, anything. I used the 'prescription strength' antiperspirants for years. With worked for the most part. In the last year or so, I started to develop cysts from the antiperspirants, so I needed to find a better solution. Preferable permanent.
I had researched getting treatment for my hyperhidrosis for the past year on and off. I had seen all the regular options (Mira-dry, thermi-dry, botox, etc) and did not like the side effects or how long the results lasted or the price tag.
I finally found Microneedle Radio Frequency. I had emailed many offices around and they didn't do the procedure.
I messaged Dr. Zormeier's office, and received an answer quickly. She had me scheduled in for a consultation. I had my procedure scheduled for the next week.
First lidocaine is applied, and you have to wait an hour for it to take effect. Laughing gas was offered. Then your underarms are numbed with shots. After a few minutes, the procedure starts. For the most part, I didn't feel any pain. If I did, more numbing shots were given. Pressure was about the most I felt otherwise.
Dr. Zormeier was very through, she wanted to make sure I had great results after the first treatment. (I was even sweating during the treatment!) I needed to hang out in the office waiting for a ride after the procedure because I react to the laughing gas for longer than normal.
There wasn't much pain after the procedure, I'd rate it a 2. I didn't really notice much pain after unless I was moving around a lot. I didn't notice any pain after 3 or 4 days. The redness lasted about a week.
After the first treatment, the reduction in sweating was around ~60%.
This is supposed to take 2-4 treatments. I had my second treatment on 3/19/2020.
