My Next Chapter - Hurst, TX

Hi everyone. I recently joined and have been very encouraged by all the stories of success. I'm in day 5 of the pre-surgery liquid diet and I have to say it is challenging. More so mentally than physically at this point. Day's 1-3 were physically hard, I was very hungry but the emotional battle to not think about food was tough. I'm not having hunger pains anymore, but I still WANT a cheeseburger :) I've lost 10lbs so far, kinda disappointed I didn't lose anything yesterday but I know my body is just adjusting to this drastic change so I'm hopeful tomorrow will show a positive loss. I know you shouldn't weigh everyday but dang it if I am going through this torture I want to see some results LOL. I'm excited and apprehensive about my surgery Monday. I'm 46yrs old and haven't been in the hospital since I was 17yrs old. No children and no major health issues so having any kind of surgery is a little scary. Anyway I could ramble on and on but just wanted to say Hi and I look forward to meeting new friends and supporting my fellow Sleeve Gastrectomy buddies.

I am so happy for you! I am going to have the surgery soon, I am here in TN. But I am moving to Hurst in the next couple of months!!! It was meant for me to see this! If you can do it, so can I!!! Thank you for being an inspiration.
Hi Mary69, how are you doing?
I'm also going to be having this surgery within the next few months. Have you found a doctor yet and set a date?
Hey there,
I'm also doing a liquid protein diet at the moment, but I have to do it for 8 weeks. It's definitely hard to start with. My body is craving all the things I know I can't have, but we just ahve to focus on the end goal and where the determination is going to get us!
I'm doing the same as you and making up lots of popsicles and jello!
I am storied of being fat and some would say do something about it. Easier said than done! No energy, no motivation just in a rut. It's so funny that my co-worker is heavy too and she called me to tell me she could not come to our annual cookout but instead weight loss came up. I met a man on a flight who had this surgery and he said it felt so good to buckle his seatbelt without the extender!, I said wow how great that would be not to struggle. I have been so depressed about this so I knew after my conversation with my co-worker I was going to see about a life change. If I can quit smoking after 35 years I rally can do anything! I could not sleep and this was on my mind and I found this. You all have been inspirational for me! God's speed to all of you!!
Hi there,
Have you spoken to any doctors yet or had any consultations, to see if you're a candidate for the surgery?
Hi there and welcome!
So, when is your surgery date? The pre-opdiet can be difficult, but it's helping prepare you for surgery and then life after surgery, so it's worth it!
If you don't mind me asking, what do you weigh at the moment?
Oh, I'm so glad it went well and your home and safe! Good job on the weight loss already! You've done awesome and I'm sure that will continue. It's a hard road, but it will be worth it for you, you just have to get past the first few weeks!
Please do keep us updated on your progress and let us know how you're doing!
