I am a healthy (thank God) 38yr-old nursing...

I am a healthy (thank God) 38yr-old nursing student, full-time nurse assistant, and part-time vendor. I've always been a curvy girl, even at the size of 125lbs (years ago, lol), but now at 235lbs, things have gotten out of hand. Honestly, I don't have bad eating habits, and I do drink water, so at fist I couldn't figure out why I kept gaining weight. I mean, it didn't just show up, I remember going to the Dr. for a check-up and every time my weight would gradually go up, maybe just a few pounds at a time. In my opinion, I think I screwed up my metabolism by years of working third shift (7am-7pm). Considering I get off from work in the mornings, I usually go straight to sleep instead of eating breakfast, once I wake up I may eat lunch, and dinner later at work. Some nights, I don't even eat at work because I have already eaten so close to time for me to leave for work. So unless I consciously think about it, breakfast is null and void in my life. Not to mention, I do drink Mt, Dews at times (about 3x a wk). Since I work and attend college, I don't have the time to exercise the way I should because I always figure I could be studying. But in December, I'll be finished with nursing school (Yeah!!!!), so I won't have any excuse about exercising.
I would love to get to 150lbs, that's my dream goal.

The caffeine is because you need fluids, it's the carbonation that will be your true enemy.

I'm so disappointed with myself today. I went for my 4 month checkup and I gained an additional 7 pounds, that makes a total of 19 pounds pounds that I have gained since I started going 4 months ago. I wonder has this happened to anyone else, is it a mind thing! Am i eating more and not realizing it because I know soon I won't be able to. I don't feel like I am I am but it's got to be something because I've never gained this much weight in such a short period

Good luck with your surgery! It sounds like you're already getting a good grasp of what you need to start doing: cut out soda, start eating breakfast, cut out junk food, etc. Have you started all the pre-op testing?
