I've gotten Botox for my
Forehead twist since and also passed out and has mini seizures both times. This can be so frustrating. I've drank lots of water, brought a cold wet rag.

I wanted to get a more full pouty lip and adjust my smile lines. I got one syringe of Juvaderm XC. I arrived to my appointment at a Sona Med Spa, signed waivers, had a consult, reviewing my lips and smile , and taking some before pictures.
She applied a numbing cream and gave me a bag with ice to hold against my lips. The tingling came pretty quickly and we were ready to get started.
As soon as she started injecting my lip, I started to feel nauseous, and light headed. I am glad the NP noticed and stopped the injections. She said my face became pale and started fanning me. I passed out cold and when I came to, I was in a state of confusion and felt like I was having a mini seizure for a few seconds. It was a little scary, but within moments I began to realize where I was. I was still shaky but started to feel progressively better as the minutes past. I told the nurse practitioner that I was feeling better and we could continue, but she didn't want to unless someone else was in the room. She said she didn't feel comfortable doing it alone, in case I pass out again.
I did have breakfast that day, but my appointment was at 2 PM, and I had not eaten lunch and was very hungry. I also had a lot of coffee that morning and not enough water, I think. Oh and I was on my period so maybe that also contributed to my blood pressure being low.
NP told me to come back the next day, they would reschedule, and the syringe was good for up to two weeks.
I was very eager to get back and finish, as now I had a lopsided lip with two injections on one side and not on the other. Upon coming home, I was feeling anxious about returning the next day, and wondering whether I should proceed with this at all. But, I did some online reading and figured out that I had a vasovagal response to the needle, and it wasn't an allergic reaction of any sort.
So, the next morning, I felt fine when I woke up, I worked out, drank lots of water and made a big breakfast! I also had a smoothie 30 minutes before on the way to my 11am appt. I was determined to not pass out!! :-)
Ok so we got setup and this time I asked her to give me a wet cloth with cold water that I could put on the back of my neck. This time they had two people in the room. One nurse practitioner to administer the Juvéderm syringe and another nurse practitioner to monitor me. The NP held my hand while we started the injections. I felt absolutely fine this time. She told me to breathe normal, don't hold my breath, and keep my eyes open while looking up. It worked great! The needle was a small pinch feeling and I didn't even feel it come out.
She had me sit up after the first few injections so that she could take a look and see how the lips were looking, and whether she needed to make any adjustments. Then I laid back down and she did one more to even it out. I was really impressed with her attention to detail and making sure that it was symmetrical. there was a little left over in the syringe, so she applied it to my smile lines. Two on my left side and one on my right side. by far the lips were the more sensitive area to have injections, as I hardly felt it in my cheeks.
Overall, I was much better prepared the second day when I went in and I am thrilled with the results so far. It is a subtle change, and I feel good about being able to go to work on Monday and it won't be that noticeable.
I've tried to include all the details of my experience to help others on this ordered. If there is something I left out or you would like to know, please feel free to message me or comment on this and I will be glad to provide as much detail as possible.
This was my first experience with injections, and I definitely plan to continue to maintain the Juvéderm, as well as Botox in the future. !

Sona Med Spa
My nurse practitioner was great. She really took the time to make sure that my appearance was even unsymmetrical. She held the mirror up for me several times to look and give feedback.
