Phase 3 of total body contouring surgery with Dr....

WORTH IT
Phase 3 of total body contouring surgery with Dr. Kortesis in Huntersville, NC. This final surgery will be complete circumferential thigh liposuction and then a full thigh lift to remove excess skin from weight loss.

I have two other reviews, one for my Lower Body Lift that was done in January 6 of 2016, and my second surgery with was an arm lift, breast lift and breast augmentation with flank lipo on May 9 of 2016.

I have a final consultation with Dr. Kortesis on July 5th to determine exactly which thigh lift method he will use after liposuctioning my thighs, and my preop appointment is scheduled for August 8th. I'll be using my final consultation appointment to review my thighs along with any areas that we previously treated that may need any revisions, although Dr. Kortesis takes such pride in his work and does such a good job I seriously doubt I'll need much revision work at all, if any.

The last time we spoke about my legs he estimated roughly 18lbs of fat would be removed from the lipo alone, which if this is true, that will put me at my goal weight of 180lbs.

I'll keep this review updated as we get closer! 100 more days!

Can't wait to see how nice you look after the thigh lift.
Your legs look a lot like mine and I have been thinking about doing this for years.
Please keep us updated
June 5, 2016
I'll be following your journey and hope to start my own later this year. Good luck.

Thanks ladies, I'll be keeping this updated for sure. I'm nervous but hopeful

May I ask how do you pay for this kind of surgery and can you have more than one surgery at a time ie: tummy tuck and circumfrencial thigh lift or are thier set progressions?
June 13, 2016
It depends on your doctor. You pay cash, credit, or loan- that's your decision how to pay as well as what the doctor accepts as payment. Combining procedures again depends on your doctor and specific situation- it's not the same for everyone

I had a consultation, with him, he was very expensive. I find I curious none got his patients will say price.
June 29, 2016
@ Parkeryl, are you saying you had a consultation with Dr. Kortesis? I wasn't asked for price, I was asked how I paid for this kind of surgery so are you wanting to know what I paid?

I'm confused by your comment

It's the same thing. I think you know what she asked? Price and how you pay is roughly the same thing in the context she used.
June 30, 2016
"May I ask how do you pay for this" doesn't mean "How much did you pay". It's not even close to the same thing. Her question literally means more along the lines "how can you afford this" not "how much was it".

I paid with a loan for my first surgery, and the second two I paid with cash I saved. You don't need to know exactly how much I paid because what I paid and what you'd be quoted are not the same, and never will be. You may not need as much OR time, or anesthesia, or need to stay overnight, or as much preop/postop care. Every case is different, therefore every price is different- it wouldn't be right to say I paid $x amount of money and have a prospective patient expect to receive exactly that price, because that's what I paid, nor is it anyone's business but mine how much I paid for my plastic surgery.

A full extended brachio with breast lift and augmentation will run you $15k+ anywhere in the country with a reputable doctor.

I hope that answers your questions.
June 30, 2016
Also, a thigh lift with liposuction will cost anywhere from $12k+

A lower body lift you can expect to pay $12k+

it really depends on your doctor and what you need.

It sounds like you have had several surgeries with him,I would estimate 20,000 would be a base per surgery,in all is not a stretch. They are pricey in that office.

Hi there, I just saw your posts today. Your results look really good! Your 'before' legs look a lot like mine. I have a disease called lipedema. Do you also have that? I have a lot of excess skin from weight loss and might need at least a TT in the future. TIA for your response and congrats!
August 1, 2016
Hey there,

Thanks so much for the compliment! I'm still extremely swollen so I'm excited to see the final result start coming in :)

I don't believe I have lipedema, although a few other Realself members have also mentioned this disease when talking about thigh lifts. My fat was localized to the front and sides of my thighs, and didn't seem to get worse besides my weight remaining the same. I did also lose weight pretty evenly over my body- I can't say for sure because I was never diagnosed, but I don't think so.

I did two other reviews here- one for my lower body lift with Dr. Kortesis, and one for my arm lift/breast lift/breast augmentation so feel free to check those out if you like, and good luck!!

Surgery moved to July 27th

I have a work conflict on September 12 and 13th where I'll be teaching a 3 hour class both days during an Expo for work, so my surgery had to be moved. I can't safely stand and teach a class barely 1.5 weeks postop full circumferential thigh lipo and full vertical lift, so I'm giving myself almost 6.5 weeks to heal so I'm ready. Knowing that complications are possible and likely after having my arms and breasts done last month, I don't want to risk anything this time around. I would rather have this *last (hopefully) procedure closer to my previous one and go through this now so I can work. The skin quality on your inner thighs is very much like your inner arms and my thinner skin does not like the dissolvable sutures.....fingers crossed for uneventful healing but I'm preparing for the worst and hoping for the best :) I'm so ready to be done with this process but also extremely grateful I've been able to do all of this in 7 months. I'm very lucky and thankful.

Ive had this surgery as well, lipo is hard but with your thighs being used in every single thing that you do everyday, you will be surprised at how well you heal! My scar is so tiny and white on the inner thigh. You were smart to move your surgery as you will need to have your legs elevated as much as possible. When you do go back to work, you come home and get your legs above your heart to keep the swelling down. Plus it will be a little cooler when you have your surgery. Wearing compression in the summer is ROUGH! If you have any questions or concerns with the surgery let me know. You are doing great! You look wonderful!
June 13, 2016
I'm really nervous, and some of the comments don't help lol :) I had some wound breakdown with my arms so I'm preparing for complications and hoping for the best
June 13, 2016
It can be nerve wracking hearing everyone's horror stories but all you can do is take good care of yourself and hope for the best. I'm only 4 days out from my thigh lift but I've had no problems so far, no incisions opening, and recovery has been smooth. Easier than my arm lift because having your arms to help you up and moving around is nice! Good luck :)

Where are these doctors located?
June 12, 2016
I have thighs that need tightening but my main issue is my calves are the same size. I have cankles too. Does you doctor treat the full leg?
June 13, 2016
I didn't ask for my calves to be treated but I'm sure if I needed them done he could take care of it- I would schedule a consult
June 14, 2016
Last year I was in the same place looking for a long thigh lift to treat the excess skin and remaining fat that would not budge from my knees, lower calves and horrible saddle bags. Even though I was now in the "normal weight catagory" there was nothing normal about the way my legs looked. I was all set to finally get that lower leg lift with a very skilled surgeon who also is trained enough to lipo the calves. Then June happened and everything changed. I watched a News Special called the "Fat Disease" and my whole lift was turned upside down. Turns out June is Lipedema Awareness Month, and that's how I learned I like 11% of all women, have this fat disorter called Lipedema, which is a grainy type of fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. The only current treatment is to remove these cells by tumescent liposuction by a skilled surgeon who will make sure and not damage the already strained lymphatics. I had that done in Dec. and just 4 days ago I had a very long thing lift that ended up going past the knee to get rid of the excess skin. Please read my thigh review as it's my wish to help educate as many as I can....Good luck ladies with your surgeries!!!

Nervous

sheknows6
Preop is next Friday, the 8th, and I'm more and more nervous and second guessing myself....still incredibly bloated from the top surgery but my energy is good. I'm just psyched out from the horror stories I guess.

I'm really terrified of my legs opening up, and that I'll spit all my sutures like I did with my arms and breasts, but that's not in my control unfortunately. I'm past the point of caring about the scars although I know I would get scar revision if I needed it. Doing my best to keep healthy and start being more active up until it's time to go in.

I only have one week off from work so I have borrowed a lounge chair to use at the office- I'm going to have to try my best to not overdo it!

Hoping everyone is doing good! If you have some recent experiences please share!

I so understand your nervousness I too experienced it as I have had several friends who ended up with very serious complications, from a long thigh lift, but I knew I needed it so badly, I pushed on to have it done. Turns out my iron was low when I went in, all adding to my nerves. My surgeon was so comforting and told me not to worry that bleeding wasn't really a issue with this type of surgery. 3 1/2 hours later surgery was over and I work up really quickly in recovery and was shocked how good I felt. I took a picture of my body once I was up in my room and could not believe how good I looked. It was all worth it. Today is day 19 and all my incisions are perfectly closed and I have had no complications what so ever....My surgeon used a new tech. he had just learned in Europe, so I didn't even get any drains! That alone was wonderful news and no swelling either. So put your fears away, it is possible to come through this difficult surgery without any complications....check out my post op picture it's pretty cool looking...I had so much extra skin that the cut needed to go 1/2 into my calf but I am cool with that as he sews so well and I scar so well it's only going to be a fine white line anyway....take care and I will be following your story!

I had a consultation with him, I only wanted the inner thigh. He said he does the whole thigh.
July 2, 2016
Not sure which Doctor you are referring too...Most doctors do many types of thigh lifts, mine does...
June 28, 2016
After reading a lot of the reviews I was super paranoid about my thigh incisions opening up. Instead my thigh lift has been (so far) the easiest recovery out of the 3 procedures (TT, arm lift, thigh lift). I split one of my arm incisions open 3 days post-op and had a hematoma from the TT, but thighs have been a breeze. I know everyone's experiences are different but I give you my own experience to say that a thigh lift isn't ALWAYS the trickiest procedure or worst recovery.

I took 7 days off work and that amount was probably ideal for me since the drains didn't come out until the 7th work day, but I felt more than well enough to work before then if need be. See how things go and how you feel and take it easy!
June 29, 2016
Sound advice, thank you for the reassurance :) I'm trying to keep my nerves in check
