1 month later - it's worth it, but only if you've got the time!

Ok, so here I am a month later. Peeling and the redness are all gone, the initial little breakouts on my chest and forehead quickly healed, and my skin underneath is indeed noticeably refreshed. I'd say it is more effective than a dermabrasion treatment at a salon, and is definitely longer lasting, but staying at home for over a week while I peeled was just way too long for me. If you don't mind looking like you're recovering from a bad sunburn, there's really no need to hide at home; I chose to do so.
Bottom line: Doctor was great. Treatment was easy and painless. Recovery was stingy and itchy, but certainly not painful. Results are decent. Probably won't do it again just because of the time involved in peeling, though. Well, maybe if I'm planning another week long "stay-cation".

Sorry I can't post photos; I'm just way too private a person to be able do that.

Tried Vi Peel, wanting something a bit more than a microdermabrasion facial, but not really ready for a deep chemical peel (I saw a friend get a TCA under her eyes and it took weeks to heal).
The doctor (yes, Dr. Morris actually applied the peel himself) had an assistant hold a fan on my face and chest so the smell and sting weren't too bad. After the first pass, the phenol numbs your skin, so you really don't feel much after that.
Night one: scrubbed with the little moist towel and went to bed... Itchy and stinky, and feeling sticky from the lotion, but benedryl helped a lot. Next day, washed and scrubbed with towel 2, still itchy and feeling stinky and sticky. Same all day and that night. The lotion stings, too. Not using the sunscreen since I'm not going outside at all and I already feel gross from the other lotion (it's thick and greasy).
Day 3 - nothing! Just dry dry dry skin and lips. No peeling at all and wondering what went wrong.
Day 4 - oh boy, here comes the peel! Yep. I'm shedding. Not sheets, but lovely little flakes all over. I look positively hideous. Did I mention that the lotion stings like crazy? Well, I figured out the secret cure... Mix 1/4 lotion with 3/4 distilled water in a CLEAN (NEW) spritzer bottle and keep it in the refrigerator. Shake it up really well and spray down your face every 15 minutes or so... Feels FABULOUS! And it hides the flaking (sort of). Wish I'd thought of this on day 1. Doesn't sting, cools your skin, doesn't feel so sticky, covers everything evenly. I'm still hiding from the world, but don't feel so hideous.
Day 5 - 7: still peeling! Not as much by day 7, but still on my neck and chest (I did my face, neck, and chest) and right in my hairline (which looks like a truly nasty case of dandruff, of course). Still kind of in hiding, although I'd go out in public if I needed.

Bottom line? My face looked really rough at first after it started to peel, almost like it was broken out with acne. I was worried it would look that way for a while, but it calmed down quickly. It now looks like I've had a nice facial, but a bit red. My chest is still peeling, so the jury is still out on that since it still is rough. I'm not sure if this is any better than microdermabrasion and a great facial... The cost is about the same but the hiding at home while you peel is just ridiculously long considering this isn't particularly invasive... It just looks so awful on me, like a snake shedding! Ugh. I'll check in again in a few weeks to say if I have soft, glowing skin all over my face and chest! If so, I'd do it again. If not, it's just way too much time for these small results.
