Ongoing Review~~~I'm scheduled to have lip implants in 5 days and I'm getting nervous. I've done the nervous pre-op jitters before (2 1/2 yrs ago.) when I had a breast lift and augmentation preformed and THAT was a much bigger procedure. Still though - I'm getting nervous. Eeek!
I have had filler done on 3 occasions and really enjoyed having a fuller top lip since my top is very thin, but unfortunately my body metabolizes the filler very quickly and it literally only lasts 3 weeks!! That measly 3 weeks is not worth the trouble (pain, time, & money) so I have decided to get implants.
I have stopped taking fish oil & vitamin E per the nurse along with any other medicine aside from my allergy meds. In 2 days I will begin taking arnica to help with the swelling and of course I have stopped drinking alcohol for the time being in prep as well.
Also, I must note that Dr. Yarish uses a stitch in the middle of both lips to hold the implant in place. I believe it's just for one day, but I'm not sure. This is suppose to reduce the chance of the implants shifting around.

The deed is done!

Yesterday I got my lip implants. 5 (largest) on top and 4 (middle size) on the bottom.
The medicine they gave me was potent, because I don't remember a thing! I remember them giving me anxiety meds followed by a shot in my arm. Then the dental blocks followed by more anxiety meds and another shot in the other arm.
Then I was out and slept all of Friday away. Now it's Saturday and I am VERY swollen

Day 3 sucks!

Brushing and swelling, OH MY! It's very uncomfortable. I've contacted the PS office and gotten in contact with the nurse on call, but not Dr. Y himself. I sent her pics and she isn't concerned. They weren't able to give me steroids because I'm allergic which may explain why I'm swelling and bruising more.

Oh my!! You are looking very colorful there! I hope you find relief soon! Thanks so much for your update!! Did he use the center stitch? It seems most people get them out because of the shifting..ugh! Fast healing to you!! I have a feeling your are going to look fabulous!!

Yes my PS uses the center stitch. It's day 7 and I still have them. The side stitches don't bother me much but sometimes the center ones do. They're suppose to dissolve. One was removed by the nurse a few days ago because it was really bugging me from the top and one came undone 2 days ago on the lower lip. 2 stitches remain on top and 2 on bottom
