Dr. Athre is an excellent plastic surgeon. He has much experience and I trusted him completely with my nose. During the consultation we discussed my nose and what I hoped to accomplish. He is very knowledgeable and knew immediately what needed to be done so it would look balanced with the rest of my face. I told him I didn't want it to look too obvious I had a nose job and he followed through on that request as well. The surgery itself was painless and I had zero pain afterwards either, just stuffiness and swelling, which is expected after any major surgery. I would definitely recommend him to someone looking to get a rhinoplasty. I would also like to give a shout out to his assistant Sandy who was very sweet and reassuring as well.

Year and a half later...

Well, it has been a year a half and I feel the need to post an update. It’s true what many others have posted about him wanting to write a good review the second the bandages come off. Obviously at that point you have no idea if it’s a good job or not. Kind of a red flag....
My results are average. Over the past few months I have noticed many issues that have arisen. The first is that one side of my nose had more cartilage taken off than the other. The side with less cartilage is flatter and that side of my nose is harder and the tip is sharper. My nose is way too pointy which of course is not what I asked for. I actually liked the tip of my old nose, all I wanted was a bump removed. In most lights it is ok but in some it is horrible. A too pointy nose is a result of too much cartilage being taken off.
My tip is not even. The side that has less cartilage is shorter than the other side. I told him from the beginning that that part of my nose never really bothered me but I let him talk me into fixing it anyway. A good surgeon would be more delicate when it came to removing cartilage as I imagine taking away is easier than adding. Judging from the two women he botched who have posted reviews and pictures after me he still has not learned that lesson. I’m nowhere near botched but just the way he refused to fix his own mistakes is appalling.
I have a slight inverted v deformity. I just learned what that is and I definitely have it.
The good part is the line down my nose where the sutures are is perfectly straight and my nostrils are even. I can breathe fine usually and I no longer get nosebleeds, surprisingly, which is a huge plus. Most of the time my nose looks decent.
I was considering asking him for a revision but the thought of him operating on me again was honestly giving me anxiety attacks. Judging from the other reviewers he would probably deny any wrong doing anyway. I will find a revision specialist with more experience when I have more money and time to throw around. For now it will do.
I would only recommend him to someone who was getting something very simple done. He did a lot to my nose and he may have been in over his head.
