How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

Better

The past couple of days I've been steps closer to feeling like myself. The sutures have stopped spitting and just a couple of little scabs remain. Today, I went all day out of compression for the first time post-sx and wore my own undies! Normal-ish...was so nice.

Slowly improving

I am including these two disgusting pictures so you can see what a spitting stitch looks like. I am happy to say one of them is out, but the other one still needs to be dug out. I have fewer and fewer of these and the staph infection is gone now. I'm only bleeding from one spot occasionally. I hope this doesn't happen to you, but my doctor says maybe 20% of people have this challenge. Unfortunately, I am exceptional in that mine has been going on for 12 weeks so far! He says that's the longest he's ever seen.

At my 12 week check up this week we discussed my breasts revisions. We're looking at another eight weeks of waiting for that.

11 weeks--stalled out

Allowing myself the pleasures of food and drink that put the weight on before--REALLY???!!! I know better! Weight is hanging around 186--uff! Waist measurement hasn't changed in 6 weeks (guess I should be relieved that it hasn't gone up). Been dealing with recent information that my husband has serious heart problems and he's going through invasive diagnostics to gather info and develop a treatment plan. He's wearing a mobile defibrillator vest in the meantime. With him wearing that and me with my staph-infected sutures in my compression pants and post-sx bra, bedtime is a lot less sexy than we'd like.

Hubby and co-workers frequently compliment my slimmer look and I have one new dress I love that flatters me so well (no more rolls means I can wear figure skimming knits and look nice)! Baby steps...

I interviewed three doctors; it was Dr. LoMonaco who saw my body and its potential the way I do (without my telling him). He took time with me, including re-shooting my photos to show aspects of my body that the initial photos did not show. He specializes in body makeovers and exudes confidence without a "God" complex. I like that he performs surgery in a hospital with an anesthesia practice, especially because my surgery could last 7-8 hours. I am one month post surgery and I'm liking what I see. Though there still is tremendous swelling in my abdomen, I see the shape of the me to come and it is what I expected and better. I am very happy with my results so far, and the good care that I have been receiving from Dr. LoMonaco and his staff.
