Hi ladies! I'm so excited to start this journey...

Hi ladies! I'm so excited to start this journey and sharing it with you all! I'm very happy to have made this decision, I've been teased for my lack of booty all my life. All of my cousins were blessed with the "right curves" so it was very difficult accepting myself. When I talked about my decision with them, their reactions were all along the same lines as: "you're fine the way you are" and "having curves is overrated". Well, of course I didn't expect them to understand. They didn't have to suffer through the merciless teasing of not only my classmates but members of my own family! The only one who understands me perfectly is my mom, maybe because she was the one that soothed me when people made the more vicious comments. So with my mother's support, I'm going to do it!!! I've been on RealSelf reviewing different doctors and their reviews and immediately Dr. Cortes stood out. Not only because he is located in Houston, but he's one of the few doctors I've seen that performs BBLs on full figured girls! To me this is very important, as I am not thin. I want to stay thick, just curvy, I love the way plus size models look! That is my goal and I believe Dr. Cortes can help me achieve my goal. That being said, I've taken the first step, I've called his office and scheduled a consultation for later this month. I am so very excited! But I'm not sure what questions I need to be asking, should I take a wish pic so he can see more or less what I want? Is there anything else I should ask or need to know? Thank you in advance for your help everyone!

Excited! But...
Hi ladies! So my appointment was scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday. I looked at my work schedule and I had a show moving in that day so there was no way I could make it. I called Dr. Cortes' office (took a few attempts, they're so busy) and I told the woman that answered (I forgot to ask her name, she was very nice) that I wanted to double check my appointment date, well turns out she could not find me in the system at all. She rescheduled my appointment to a day I was able to have the time off, which was great. Then she asked me for my basic info like DOB and contact number and that was pretty much it. This really concerned me because the person that scheduled my appointment the first time asked me for my SS# and this time I was not asked to provide it. Should I be worried?

SS# for an appointment?.....That's interesting. Hey when you get an answer for that make sure you fill us in on an answer K, please. I'm really funny about releasing my # like that ya know.

Consultation Update - PreOp Pics
Hi Ladies! So I had my first consultation with Dr. Cortes. First of all, yes the wait is a little long. I was too excited to care, but my mother, well that's a different story. You have to fill out some paperwork when you get there. It's very detailed, even though it's time consuming I suggest you read it. I also asked for a copy for my records, which I was given without hesitation. Bonus! So I finally saw the Dr! After months of stalking his work on IG and on RealSelf, it was almost surreal to be face to face with him. He was very nice and patient (he spoke to my mom in Spanish, always a plus) and he answered all of my questions. He was completely honest with me about my results. i have absolutely no butt at all. He told me that I would not get a JLo/Nikki Minaj booty because I do not have any give to the skin on my butt. He did say however that with the lipo and fat transfer to my hips and butt, I would have a natural looking booty and overall nicer shape. I wasn't discouraged at all! Natural is fine with me! I do have to loose 15 lbs before the surgery though. I really hope I can do it! Plus he did advise me that I will require a tummy tuck after, but that can wait for now. I put my deposit down and scheduled my surgery. I may have to change the date though, I keep getting pop up shows. I have to call and talk to them to see if it can be moved. I'll keep you all posted. I hope I didn't forget anything!

You really should! I was excited to lose weight before the consultation, but now it's like tunnel vision! I hope it last though! I always have a problem sticking to diets and exercising but now I know I have to!
