WORTH IT$6,100
I thought I would write this review since I have read so many and gotten so much information and motivation for doing these procedures. I wanted to share my experience. Nov 2014 I had a tummy tuck which went outstanding and gave me the results that I was hoping for (still seeing results as time goes by). However, I wanted to also remove the hereditary bags under my eyes but I felt like I wanted to do something else before I jumped into another surgery. I tried Neotensil which is supposed to be "like spanks" for the eyes ($500!). Returned the product and was reimbursed a treatment so I tried this laser treatment called Tighten which requires 4-6 treatments (4 weeks between treatments) at $500 per treatment if you want to see results. The Neotensil was a total disappointment and I would not recommend it at all. The laser treatment I can't say since I did not do all 6 treatments. It was mildly discomforting and took maybe 15 minutes for a ~$500 session. While trying all these treatments I found a review for this doctor in the Houston area on Real Self and I made an appointment to see her. Her office was awesome and she was amazing. She took the time to explain the procedure and what to expect. She seemed like a perfectionist, not a bad thing to be when working around the eyes, and shared her background of treating serious and complex eye issues surgically. I felt comfortable and the review on Real Self also helped out a lot.

Here are before pictures. The issue that I went to Dr. Ahuero for was to address the under eye bag removal. Since I was going to be under I decided to do the upper blepharoplasty too. My mom is in her mid 60's and had the upper blepharoplasty done so I figured I would get it over with ahead of schedule. LOL.

Day of the Procedure

In preparation of the surgery the doctor started me on antibiotics as well as gave me instructions to start supplements that would reduce the bruising like Arnica Montana. The procedure took around 2 hours and the staff was great. They explained everything that was going to happen and the last thing I remember before I woke up was the doctor drawing on my eyes and asking me to open and close. The care after was good as well. A few hours after I was home Dr. Ahuero called me to check on me and to answer any questions. That was perfect since when I left I was still a little out of it. I had one or two questions and it was nice to get them answered verses letting them linger and possibly doing something that would not be the best for the recovery.
The best thing that I started was applying ice packs for 15 minutes at a time or more. The cold felt so good. I placed gauze between my eye and ice pack. The ice pack I used was for the eyes. I purchased from Ultra. The icing really helps with the swelling. Also sleeping with your head above your heart helps with the draining. I had one red blood tear on the right side and the left eye had some blood pooling. Totally normal per the doctor.

Wow, your results already look good! I'm 46 and I've wanted to get my undereye bags removed since I was 26. Today, I actually found my consult documentation from when I went to get an estimate on the cost after the day I turned 26. LOL 20 years gone that fast, But anyway, you give me hope. I'm tired of cucumbering it, potatoing it, and the bags tire my face out! Sheesh! And your uppers look awesome, too. Conservative fat removal. Love it..She did a fantastic job. Did you do anything presurgery to prep?
Thanks for starting a review- how is your recovery going so far? We'd love to see some healing stages pics :)
Thanks for posting pics! Yeah the first week is definitely the worst and then it starts to get a lot better (although it will still take about 6 months to see your real results). Glad you are doing well!
