Amazing Experience with Dr. Erika Sato
After several years of contemplating liposuction, watching YouTube videos, reading RealSelf reviews and looking at before and after pictures, I finally decided to have liposuction done. I'm 42 years young, 5'2" tall, weigh 154 pounds (148 after liposuction) and have given birth 4 times. I have more of an athletic build and have been able to camouflage my troubled areas with the types of clothing I wear. I avoided pools and beaches since that would require a bathing suit. I also avoided fitted dresses because I didn't want the embarrassment of someone asking "when is the baby due?” That has happened to me before and is a terrible feeling. I got so good at hiding the areas that I was insecure about that no one really knew I had troubled areas...until I showed them my before pictures. I wish I could have captured the expression on peoples' faces when they saw my before vs after pictures. I must say, I am amazed at my results. I only told a handful of people that I had the procedure done. I told them it was done by a magician known as Dr. Erika Sato.
I submitted a new patient inquiry on RealSelf for Dr. Erika Sato March 13th, 2018 after 11pm. I received a reply from her on March 14th shortly after 8am. I was really surprised to receive a reply from the actual doctor. Her emailed included lots of useful information such as consultation days/times, the option of virtual consultation vs in person consultation, things to consider etc. I scheduled my consultation for the next day (March 15th). The office was easy to find. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. I expressed my concerns to Dr. Sato. She answered all of my questions, explained the different types of liposuction and explained the results I could expect with Tummy tuck vs liposuction. I opted for tumescent liposuction vs a tummy tuck because I could not take too much time off work. Dr. Sato reiterated the fact that I may have loose skin so that I had realistic expectations. Personally, the possibility of loose skin does not bother me. At no point did I feel pressured into anything and that’s very important to me. After my consultation, I had some follow-up questions via email and received fast relies.
I had attended a consultation with another Dr. regarding smart lipo a week prior so Dr. Sato was my second consultation. When I left her office, I canceled all other consultations without hesitation. When I met Dr. Sato, it just felt right. I knew she was the Dr. for me. Within two days, I booked my surgery date. I booked April 24th for lipo of the upper abs, lower abs and waist.
My surgery went well. I had some nausea a few hours after the procedure but it didn't last long. I was given medication for that. I got up and walked around for a few minutes as instructed. I took the pain meds the day of the procedure, and one day afterwards. I felt well enough to go to work on the third day. Just FYI, I have a high pain tolerance so this may not be ideal for others. I went to all of my post-op appointments and followed the Dr.'s instructions. If you are able to GET the lymphatic massages do so. They really help. My results look natural. I hear “you took great”, “have you lost weight” or “I see you have been working out”. It feels amazing to hear those compliments. I also notice I don’t eat as much and I’m very careful what I put into my body now. I’m sure it’s because I never want to look like I did before the procedure.
I went to my 3 month post-op appointment on July 16. During that appointment I inquired about my next lipo session. A couple of days later, I booked July 24th to have by back and upper love handles done. It was a personal choice not to have all areas done at once.
It is now the next morning…less than 24 hours after my second liposuction procedure of the back and upper love handles. I am sitting up as I type this review. When sitting with proper posture my pain is very minimal and walking around does not hurt. The painful part is getting up from a laying down position or standing because I’m using those back muscles for that. Again, I have a high pain tolerance. I do not want to give the impression that that the healing process will be a breeze for everyone but if you follow the Dr.’s instructions and voice your concerns you will be fine. Dr. Sato is available and accessible to her patients. She is passionate about her work and in my opinion is a perfectionist. I am 100% satisfied with my results and highly recommend Dr. Erika Sato. I can hardly wait until I see the results of my second procedure but I will not peep until it’s time. I do follow the orders 100% of the time.
