WORTH IT$12,000
I should have made this decision many years ago. I had my first child at age 18, & my stomach was ravaged with stretch marks & horizontal C-section scar. Two more subsequent C-sections left me in hideous condition. I am the happiest I've been in years since having my surgery. I didn't think it was possible for my stomach to ever look as good as it does now! The cost of this procedure is a drop in the bucket compared to my results & changes in my life! Worth EVERY penny!

63 Year Old Great Grandmother Finally Chooses Much Needed Tummy Tuck - Houston, TX

My main goal for having a tummy tuck was to fit in my clothes that I had outgrown, but the unexpected result was even better! My clothes now all fit perfectly, but more importantly, I look great WITHOUT my clothes! When I researched TTs, I was mostly interested in women my age who had been through this procedure. I was concerned about cost, pain, & recovery. I only wish now that I had done it sooner, but I am VERY glad that I finally did it! If you are one of us gals not in your "prime" anymore, you deserve to experience the freedom from insecurities & unhappiness that your body image can cause! I encourage you to JUST DO IT!

Hello, thank you for your post. I'm 57 and I've had 2 C-Sections many years ago. I have three grown children. My C Section was started just below my navel and end right at the pubic hair line. It looks like a butt. However, I'm not looking for doctors. I'm from Houston but is not in NJ studying so I'm researching doctors here. I've narrowed it down to 2. I'm a little nervous but have wanted this for a long tie. My question is did you have the lipo on your flanks and muscle tighten with your TT? I have a nice butt, but do want my waist smaller and my thigh lifted. How long was so surgery and did you need help when you got home? Was it difficult? how long did it take to put on regular clothes? How long was it you were able to drive? Was it very painful? My best friend and may daughter is in Texas so they will not be here for me. But I do have one friend here. I'm so determine to have it done. I'm now single and want to look great. Please can you help me with these questions.
Sincerely,
S.

Yes, I did have lipo on my flanks with muscles tightened. I have an athletic build, so I don't have a small waist anyway, but I'm quit happy with my torso now. My surgery lasted 3-4 hours. I am so glad that my dr wanted me to stay overnight; I didn't want to spend the money, but being 63, I was glad to have the medical attention. My husband stayed overnight with me. You ABSOLUTELY MUST have help when you get home! Getting up & down is difficult & painful! I slept on our electric reclining loveseat for a full week. You can also sleep in bed with lots of pillows, but getting out of bed is much more difficult. I put on regular, loose-fitting clothes when I checked out of the hospital the next day. Putting on regular clothes wasn't a problem; not being able to stand erect is the concern. I had to bend at the waist for a couple of weeks, but the only place I went was to the dr for my checkup. I did not drive for about 2 weeks, I think, but my sons live in my neighborhood, so they catered to me as did my husband. Honestly, it is painful! The incision was NEVER painful; it is the bruising from the lipo! It took almost 2 weeks for bruising to fade. I am reluctant to take any pain meds, but for the first 4-5 days I took them every 4-6 hours & then began to wean myself & take only as needed. The end result was worth EVERY single pain I ever felt. The swelling lasts for months, & my incision & stomach are still numb. Pain is temporary & manageable, but the difference in my body, how it looks, & how my clothes fit, are WORTH IT ALL!!! I had complete confidence in my dr because of his reviews, a personal friend's recommendation, & his professionalism.

Hey TXnana, Thank you for replying to my email. Sorry about the errors. Using my phone to type is a little difficult. I am looking for surgeons in the NJ, NY area. I did have in mind Dr. Patronella or Dr. Mentz in Houston. I researched them for a few years. However, if I have it done there I wouldn't have anyone to help me during my recovery. So I've researched doctors in this area. One of them I will be seeing next week for a consultation. Like you I wish I had it done years ago. But today there are new and better ways to do tummy tucks. I just feel its now time I want to get back into a bikini, which I gave up long ago to have kids. I'm nervous, a little afraid but it's something I've wanted for a long time. But I do feel much better after reading your post and seeing your photos. Makes me feel like I can do this. You look great. Since on this site there is always post of women in their twenties and 30s and 40s. I was looking for women close to my age. Although I'm not 60 yet, but reading yours have given me hope to go forward with my surgery, You are an inspiration. Please continue to update us. One last question when viewing your photo you have bandage just above your torso, did you have fat transfer to your butt? I thought about having a butt lift. My friends and daughter told me I don't need it. But I'll see what the doctor says. I will post when I've narrowed down the date and time of surgery and post photos. Thank you so much for responding to my email.

No, ParisMM, that is my bra. I did not need a butt lift. My butt has always been nice & fairly firm. I understand your fears; I was scared but excited, rolled into one big nervous ball! My confidence in my dr, my husband's support, & my prayers helped me have courage to overcome my fears. So happy for you that you've made your decision & look forward to hearing your plans to do it for YOURSELF! God bless!

Hello! First let me say your transformation is nothing short of spectacular! I am 66 and scheduled for a tt on August 25th. I hope you still check your messages because I have a question. Everyone has trouble standing up straight for awhile for obvious reasons. But what about leaning forward? Like to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth? Or to wash just your face? I also bend forward to wash my long hair in a stationary sink but I realize that probably isn't going to happen for awhile! :) I hope to post a review as well to help us older gals deal with issues that only we can appreciate. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Thank you so much! It has changed my entire outlook & my feelings about myself! I look in the mirror or down at my stomach & can't believe it's me! Best decision I ever made for me! My husband is pretty happy, too. You will want to lean forward to prevent stress on your incision. Leaning in to brush teeth or wash hair should be no problem at all. I read where some couldn't straighten up for a couple of weeks; that was not my experience. By the end of the first week, I could stand fairly straight. I am glad now that I posted but was very hesitant. Honestly, I know I was in some pain, but I can best explain my experience to having a baby. I had 3 C-sections, & I know I had to have been in pain, but I just can't remember it. The outcome is SO worth any short-lived pain. I wish you the best! It's your time, so ENJOY the experience!

Hello again txnana! I went ahead with my tt, no drains, no lipo & was doing great and feeling quite happy until the third week. I had an extra vertical incision from my bb to the horizontal one due to not having much excess skin & they can't bring down the old bb hole & take it 'out' if your skin isn't lax. Anyway, the vertical incision opened a bit with drainage. And I formed a seroma under the area as well. This wasn't pretty but not a biggie until the fever started. I have other health issues that factor in but I was still so sad! Did you have any areas that stayed sticky for awhile? If so, how long before they dried up? I am under constant care but feeling very ill in the third day of fever. Just looking for some light, I suppose! I am still not sorry and love my flat tummy!!

I already had my first son when I married my husband, so he'd only seen me with my awful stomach--but loved me anyway! We are a very happily married Christian couple for 44 years in Sept, & while we've always enjoyed an active, healthy sex life, I can tell you it has gotten better than I could have every dreamed, mostly because of my loss of self-consciousness & how I feel about my new body but also his desire for me now that I look so much better! Men are very visual creatures-lol! Thank you for your kind words, & I encourage you to do this for yourself. Stay posted for more! If I can encourage even one person by my journey, that is my desire now that I am experiencing such joy over a flat tummy!
