Horrible Inner Thigh Lift

After losing over 200 pounds, I was finally ready to remove my excess skin and close this chapter of my weight loss journey. I went into my inner thigh lift feeling hopeful and excited — I trusted my surgeon and was told I would be getting an extended thigh lift to properly address the severity of my loose skin. I’m 6’7, 29 for reference.

Immediately after surgery, I noticed there was still a noticeable chunk of loose skin hanging. I tried to convince myself it might be fat that I could tone with muscle, but deep down, I knew it was unremoved skin — something that should’ve been corrected during the procedure.

Now, just six months post-op, I’ve confirmed that I didn’t receive the extended thigh lift we had discussed. Instead, I was given a basic thigh lift that didn’t address the true extent of my needs. I brought this up at my follow-up appointment today (June 7, 2025), and was told that if I wanted a revision, I would need to pay almost the same price all over again.

When I expressed that I didn’t believe I should be financially responsible for correcting a result that wasn’t done properly to begin with, the conversation became tense. The surgeon became defensive and repeatedly stated he did nothing wrong. Even tried to blame me. simply because I voiced my concern and pointed out a mistake. Stated that somehow in these 6 months I’ve lost weight to where it caused more skin. See 1 week post op and See 6 weeks post op.

This has been incredibly disappointing, especially after putting so much trust, time, and MONEY into the process. If you’ve experienced massive weight loss and are considering this procedure, please make sure your surgeon takes your anatomy and expectations seriously — and be sure you get a clear surgical plan in writing. That whole wait 6 months thing feels like a trap to make you be at fault. I showed him that no this has been like this since I came off your table. I haven’t lost but maybe 5lbs since surgery. I’ve been doing lots of body building and weight training and for what. I don’t feel I can trust any PS in DFW moving forward. I feel so hurt and ashamed right now. I lost all that weight and thought I was on the right track, started to see a therapist just this Friday the 6th, to help me with my body image issues and then this happens.

I know I wasn’t going to look like some supermodel after all this but I didn’t expect this either. I’m really disappointed and just feel sad.

Poorly done inner thigh lift. Profile has pictures to show the inadequacies with my procedure.
